Stansbury caravan park is in a fantastic location right on the beach. The amenities I assumed were a little aged when looking at the building but when I walked in I was amazed how well they are maintained. There is bird life in the water and I assume if you are into fishing this is a great spot.
The sites are a little small and I imagine in the peak it could get a little tight for room when the park is full. I imagine the park would fill in the summer due to the location alone.
The caravan park is right on the ocean, absolutely beautiful views, there is plenty to do, swimming, fishing, crabbing, the sites are beautiful grassy sites and plenty of room. A short walk to the street and pub which is a bonus
Beautiful park. Wonderful beachside location.
Great spot for kids with a basic on site playground and another bigger one within walking distance.
Great beaches for the kids.
Very well kept park. Beautifully maintained. The amenities are second to none. Clean, great showers, great laundry and really lovely large indoor camp kitchen. (Except for the automatic airfreshners that made the kitchen smell like a toilet, a clean toilet but a toilet none the less).
This was our third visit to this park and it was only on this trip that it became apparent to me that management prefer the business of thier grey nomad friends. Richard in particular seems to have an aversion to young children.
My very tired barely 2yr old was crying at our friends site for his dad for approx 30seconds.
I was walking from our site to get him but before I could get to him Richard (manager) stuck his head out of the office and had a sooky bi&@h fit. Stared at my 2yr old then at my friend and said "REALLY, SERIOUSLY" quite loudly and more than once
Then looked back to my 2yr old then back to my friend.
If you read this Richard, 2 year olds cry, they get tired and hungry and sometimes even upset for no reason at all. It was approx 4pm not the middle of the night or the crack of dawn. And your attitude was uncalled for and just bl@@dy rude.
The other issue we had was that we asked for a late checkout. 11am instead of 10am.
We had 7 young kids between us and it is hard going to pack up and make sure that the kids (especially the little ones) don't get run over by cars, vans and boats on a busy exodus day at the end of a long weekend. Especially when many don't observe the 8km speed limit (that includes you richard in your little golf buggy).
We were told that we could not have the 1 hour extension to vacate because there were too many people arriving that day. Whilst I do appreciate this fact, I can't quite understand why it was such a big deal. We were quiet and respectful for our entire stay. Check in is not until 2pm and it isn't a hotel where cleaning is required once the room is vacated. No watering was required on our concrete/paved site plus it rained all weekend. So the lack of leniancy and empathy was in my opinion, unjustified.
And funny that so many others were slow at packing up and would not have been out by 10 but I bet management didn't go and tell them to hurry up. At least we had the common courtesy to ask.
So yes the park was great, our kids had fun and made new friends which is what it is all about but it is such a shame that our trip was tainted by the grumpy nature of the managers.
Like I said, to me it felt like they seem to be discouraging families of young kids, just to keep the more regular grey nomads happy.
I would also like to point out that all the other staff we encountered were lovely and didn't seem to share the same bad attitudes.
If it wasn't for the customer service we woukd have rated this park 5 stars. Maybe we will wait until we retire before we return, might get a warmer welcome.
