Write a reviewWhat a welcome we received at this little b & b on the beach - they even had our national flag flying! Gordon and Diana go all out to welcome you to their home and are full of local knowledge and history. The property is right on a beautiful beach and the house has some beautiful views. It is a drive into town but plenty of bars restaurants to choose from. Breakfast is great with eveything homemade and plenty of choice. Good size room , very clean and all the facilities you need. Gordon and Diana could not do more to make your stay special.

Over 15 years we have had the privilege of hosting guests from many parts of this planet we live on and as we have travelled ourselves, we do appreciate what visitors are looking for. We do seriously endeavour to make them feel at home and we tell them that while stay stay with us, it is their home too. We are fortunate to live in an area with so many natural attractions and we are proud to share our communities assets and beauty.

The best b&b where I´ve ever been! The room was cosy and clean, service was excellent and hostess & host were overwhelmingly helpfull and kind. The view was incredibly beautiful. Delicious breakfast was just like I wanted it to be.
The distance from Whitianga is 6 km. With own car it wasn´t issue at all.
Only minus was the indoor-spa (I thought it would be outdoor)

Diana & Gordon were our most charming B&B Host & Hostess in NZ. To start, there was an American Flag hoisted to greet us. They were warm & welcoming, relaxed, informative & jovial. We loved the homemade chocolates & cookies placed in our cozy, clean, comfortable room right by the beach. We were treated like family! Breakfasts were a lovely smorgasbord of cereals choices, fresh in season fruits & juices, toasts & eggs any style. Perfect location just minutes from downtown Whitianga. A must visit spot!

We are so thrilled to have our guests rate us as the most charming Host & Hostess in NZ. We have travelled ourselves to many places not only around NZ but also overseas and understand what travellers are looking for. We are proud of the history of our location and do wish to share the special things that apply to Mercury Bay and surrounding areas. This being the 250th year since the visit by Captain Cook in 1769, it is special that our local Maori people were the first in NZ to welcome the "white" sailors from far away unlike the conflicts that happened at the earlier sites he visited.

Gordon and Diana treated us kindly and hospitably from the moment we arrived. The room was large with its own bathroom and the bed was roomy and comfortable. There were thoughtful details such as home-cooked baking with coffee and home-made chocolates by our bed each night. Gordon and Diana were knowledgeable about the local area and were willing to point us in the right direction.

When we say we wish our visitors to arrive as guests and leave as friends, we are very serious and try very hard to ensure we offer friendly reception, enlightened information and warm hospitality. Our location overlooking Mercury Bay is the envy of many and of course our beach where Captain Cook landed in November 1769 has so much history.

We concluded our month in New Zealand with four nights at this wonderful B and B. A killer view of a gorgeous beach, comfy and spacious room, breakfasts with a personal touch (the scrambled eggs were special!), and hosts who care deeply about ensuring you have the best possible experience. We most appreciated the many opportunities to just sit down and chat, learning so much about the local area and New Zealand. We arrived as guests and left as friends.
