We stayed with Stu and Tish with our whole family ( 23) of us! It was amazing, everyone loved to pool and we also had our own very well kitted our spaces, and there was room for a hub and outside dining for all of us at the largest gite. Can’t express how much they go above and beyond for the guests and how well they know the best places to go. We visited markets, beautiful towns and gastronomical delights, kayaking and riverside picnics, all recommended you our hosts, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. Stunning views and amenities. Seriously can’t recommend it enough. We made memories that will last a lifetime here. Thanks to Stu and a Tish. I hope we will be back! 😀
We had two weeks this June/July staying in the one bedroom cottage, with our Westie. It was charming and the views amazing and such a great pool to cool down in when the sun came out in our second week. Stu and Tish gave great recommendations for eating out, and even took me and Monty along for some dog walks with their two. I would thoroughly recommend this place.
We spent a week enjoying the Dordogne while based at La Boissiere. Our gite was the one bedroom La Boulangerie. Everything one could possibly ever need for a self catering holiday was available in the gite, from fully equipped kitchen to washing machine, iron and ironing board, satellite tv, stereo and a wide selection of books. The decor was tasteful and the cleanliness impeccable. Our fabulous hosts Stu and Tish were generous in sharing their knowledge of the region as well as with their time to make reservations or go to the bakery or supermarket. They were tremendously respectful of guests need for privacy or quiet time. The beautiful gardens, sparkling pool, superb views and rural quiet all contributed to an unforgettable holiday that we would repeat in a heartbeat.
Our 2 week stay at Maison La Boissiere is one of my best ever holidays. We arrived hot and tired after a long drive and were welcomed by Stuart and Tish who are the most fantastic hosts. Swept in to our accommodation, cold drinks were pressed in to our hands and a marvelous roast chicken dinner quickly followed. We were made to feel thoroughly at home in our gite, which had a huge open plan sitting room/dining room, well appointed kitchen and separate utility room (with shower), downstairs loo, together with 3 bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom upstairs. Probably the best feature though was the large completely enclosed garden which our toddler loved and the south facing shaded terrace, with cracking views over the Dordogne valley - all entirely private. On top of all this the large, beautifully kept swimming pool, with toddler pool was exquisite. Everything is clean, well looked after and comfortable. Stuart and Tish are founts of local knowledge and can advise on places to visit, eat, buy wine etc. In sum I would recommend this place to anyone who likes comfort with style. Simply the best.
We stayed in the smallest of the 3 gites at this smashing place run by some old friends in the heart of the Dordogne for a long weekend. La Boulangerie, as this gite is known, is beautifully decorated in clean, crisp lines, complete with a wonderful vaulted bedroom, a very comfortable kingside bed and great bathroom. The views to the east and south over the valley are incredible and the gite has its own patio for barbecuing and a very private garden for sunbathing, complete with sun loungers. From there it is but a few yards to the generously sized swimming pool which again has stunning views. There's plenty to explore in the area, from markets and gardens to chateaux and a wide array of restaurants. A great place to unwind.
