My first time ever at a Holiday Inn and it wasn't that bad .
The room was OK
Nice bed ,shower and sink
The parking is on the different side of things ,it's downtown so it sits on one way streets and some are blocked off .
Now back to the room ,the one thing I would change is the carpet that looks 30 years old and worn out and maybe sweep the bathroom floor
Breakfast bars on point
I will recommend this Hotel if you can't find a better place it's pretty good
As IHG members we often stay at Holiday Inns and this one is not up to the usual Holiday Inn standards. First of all it is hard to get to because in spite of a GPS. One of the roads was fenced off at a railroad crossing and there are a number of difficult to navigate one way streets. The parking lot has narrow lanes and individual spaces making it difficult to park. The clerks at the desk were friendly and helpful, which was the best thing about our visit. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable although the air conditioning/heating unit under the window was very noisy. This did not block out the noise from the many trains that pass close by on what appear to be 3 separate lines. The restaurant was average and not busy and my wife noted that the waitress appeared to repeatedly ignore an older gentleman sitting close to us. The food was average and the coffee cold. The whole place appears shabby and I’m surprised they have kept their Holiday Inn franchise.
If you like the sounds of locomotives, rail cars banging and squeaking, trucks roaring off the interstate continuous all night long so close that you think they are passing through your room then this is the place for you. The staff is courteous and everything is clean but we will have to pass this one and find someplace that will allow rest in the future.
Stayed two nights...wonderful staff. Room was great. Perfect location to stay and easy to get anywhere in Shreveport. I moved from Shreveport two years ago but I will not stay anywhere else when I come back to visit. This hotel has been here a long time but they’ve gone to great lengths to keep it nice.
With the exception of Dashray at check-in, I have nothing else positive to state about this hotel. She was pleasant, enthusiastic, and provided excellent customer service. The hotel is truly dreadful. Stained carpets - hallways and rooms. Hallways and elevators had no ventilation, much less air conditioned. You would quickly break a sweat just walking from elevator to room. The AC unit in my room, barely kept it tolerable, Every other area of the hotel was uncomfortably hot, I don't mean uncomfortable - HOT. The bar overall is laughable. The bottled beer is lukewarm. The bar itself is hot. The TV stayed on 48 hrs crime drama, wth?. Separation partitions between urinals literally falling off the restroom wall, and this by the meeting rooms. Overpriced and poorly prepared food in the restaurant. Holiday Inn is always my first choice when travelling, but I will never visit this one again.
