Friendly staff.reasonable rates. If you are gluten free bring your own cereal. If not enjoy waffles & biscuits w/gravy mmmmmm. Nice pool to cool off in. Nice comfortable rooms. They have a hot tub(nice at night).
Great place, unfortunate air conditioning problem but accommodated our rate for less and gave us a fan, we had a great time in the pool for cool down managers Heather and Mike where great and special Thanks to Dylan!! Awesome job!!
Pros: great beds and pillows; nice people; very affordable
Cons: needs serious updating; pool, while clean and clear, is very run down with many broken and cracked tiles; hallway smells; A/C could not keep lobby or hallways cool, but in room was quite adequate.
ALL IN ALL a good value for a good night's sleep.
The Fairbridge has worked hard to update this location, new carpets, new furnishings, new TV's. The staff will go out of their way to assure you have a good visit. It's an older hotel so reasonably priced. But you can enjoy the updates. Pool is nice in hot weather.
I traveled from one time zone to another and forgot about the time difference so I arrived at the Fairbridge Inn a couple of hours earlier than their standard check in time. Michael at the front desk had my room ready for me and was able to check me in right away. I was very impressed with his professionalism and proficiency! He explained all of the policies, told me about the amenities at the hotel, and directed me to my room with ease. I have stayed in other 2 star hotels and have never received a more welcoming check in. Michael made me feel as if I was staying in a 5 star hotel! The elevator up to my room was much smaller than a normal elevator but worked smoothly with no hitches! When I got to my room, it was absolutely beautiful! My room looked exactly like the pictures on the web site! I had room 301, it overlooked the railroad tracks and across the street, the river was in full view! I always lived near railroad tracks growing up and having my room next to them, brought up fond memories and feelings of nostalgia. The view of the river was absolutely spectacular! I noticed there was even a very large yellow smiley face in the grass on the mountain next to the river! The room was quiet all night! I did not hear a peep from any of my neighbors. The bed was firm but comfortable with clean linens and warm blankets. The room as a whole was very comfortable and inviting.
There are a couple of things I did not mention to the front desk but I feel they will help the next guest feel a lot more comfortable:
1.) There was no screen on the window in the room. I opened the window to get fresh air circulated in the room and was surprised to find no screen on a 3rd story window so I was unable to keep the window open as long as I wanted to. (I have a 4 year old son who stayed with me and was fascinated by the view and I had to stop him from trying to open the window after I had closed it.)
2.) There was a screw on the floor, in the bathroom doorway, that was right in the center of the floor that needed to be screwed in all the way. It was sticking half way up. Had I not noticed it, it would have been easy for me or my son to stub a toe or worse, jam a foot into it while walking into the bathroom in the middle of the night.
3.) Last thing, totally was not a big deal but did stop me from enjoying the complimentary coffee in the room: When I got up in the morning, I went to use the coffee pot in the room and I took all the coffee supplies out of the top of the coffee maker, the lid came down and revealed a ton of hair from the previous guest on top of the lid of the coffee maker! I opted not to touch the hairs so I did not get to use this amenity.
Other than those 3 inconveniences, this hotel was superb! I will definitely stay here again and will be back!
P.S. The pool and hot tub looked super clean and inviting! Unfortunately I did not get the chance to soak like I wanted to...I will definitely be using this amenity next time! :) (They have a BBQ on the patio right next to the pool for guests to use! How cool is that??)
