I really hate to write a negative review, but this time my hands were forced .
So point by point
Accessibility - excellent . One and half hours from Dehradun airport , the road is being constructed at places , but Over all it’s ok .
Location - you can’t ask for a better one . Bang on the Ganges , awesome surroundings , peace , calm and tranquility .
Property - lush green, well maintained so far . Offers excellent views , plenty of space to walk and plenty of activities to choose from . Jungle Safari is well managed .
Food - is average . Breakfast spread is miser , dinner you will be better off ala carte. The bar is closed for lack of staff so you either carry your own and carry your own ice from the kitchen too .. why... I will come to that.
Service - simply does not exist . They cite lack of staff because of COVID 😳. Whatever staff there is , zero trained and have no idea of what to do and how . Be it anything . Such a potential place is severely mismanaged . Room service will make you mad and u got to call a different person every time .
It is marriage or family function venue . I would not encourage tourists , and if you do go , just forgive the staff😀. If you can , then it’s a good place .
Will like to visit again , in presence of full and trained staff .
I will respect their truthfulness , the staff was clear in the sitaution about it and did genuinely feel sorry for us .
But then , this is service industry and it doesn’t work like this .
Very nice stay here for two nights in October 2020. We wanted to go for 'mundan' of my baby in a resort near Ganga ji which is a situated in a peaceful location and that's what Amatra is. Hotel staff arranged Pandit Ji and Barber on direct payment basis which solved my purpose. There are total 12 villas, each has one garden view room at ground floor and two rooms at first floor overlooking garden or Holy Ganga river. Some of the rooms have also got jacuzzi in balcony. Best villa to stay is villa number 7 followed by 6 and 5. Rest of the ones are away from river and doesn't provides the river view. River was crystal clear and had a direct connect with this resort. Resort has got multiple activites to do like badminton, archery, etc. Including pool overlooking the river. They have also kept done benches with tables overlooking the holy river wherein you can order and take your evening snacks. They also conduct Ganga Aarti every evening. Food here is awesome (I'm vegetation) and timings are also good.
The only two negatives were - 1) very narrow approach road for last 1 km as it enters a village (allows only one way traffic although it's rare) 2) monkeys are big menace here. You have to keep doors closed (spoils the enjoyment of terrace including jacuzzi)
We visited Amatra during Diwali holidays as we wanted to be away from the Diwali Pollution.we are welcomed by Neha Rawat(Front office) with so much warmth that we felt great and special. The rooms were nice with a nice view of Ganges from the room.
Next morning when we wanted to take a dip in the Ganges,we found little difficulty reaching there due to a rough passage.the staff noticed it and to our surprize by next morning they constructed a small bridge for everybody’s convenience.the guard nearby the river were so cooperative. The property is full of green with lot of sports facilities to enjoy with the family.Big Thank you Amatra and especially the staff.Cheers
I am a frequent traveller these days. Stayed at this wonderful resort when visited the holy city of Haridwar.
Not a very big resort but beautifully landscaped. Right on the banks of Ganga ji. Perfect place to relax. Only drawback is that it's some half an hour drive from Har ki Pauri . Food quality is good, head chef Mr Rana personally take care of guests taste. Ms Neha at front desk is a gem for this resort.
Best thing about this resort is that every staff member tries to please you. Rarely one sees such team work.
Rooms are good. Wash room too.
Spread at breakfast not lavish but adequate. Pool water was not clean all the four days I stayed.
Will definitely come again .
Amazing place with perfect silence for mediation and other recreational activities. Food was too good. Room was spacious and very neat and clean. Aarti at ganges was really mesmerizing. Looking forward to come to this property again.
