Stayed here for a wedding in nearby town--had trouble calling for reservation-phone continually rang--no answer---2 hours later with no answer, I called the following day---$320 per night--yikes--I though I called a hotel in NYC instead of suburban New Haven--lousy breakfast--had to tell the front desk clerk, scrambled eggs were empty, and bagels were not available. 10 minutes later he came back with eggs. Room 220 has carpet stain. probably someone's DNA
Went to Guilford to celebrate our 5th anniversary and eat at "The Place" again. The check in was pretty slow but that is because the front desk clerk was assisting an elderly disabled lady. Room was average.
This is such a nice, small hotel! Rooms are nicely decorated in up to date style and CLEAN. Quiet but we could hear some room noise upstairs. Very easy to get to off of Interstate 95. 15 minutes from Hammonasette Beach. Plenty of parking. Well lit. Lots of towels and places to charge your phone and other electronics. Large refrigerator, microwave, safe, coffee maker. Free breakfast in the morning. Coffee, juice, water and cookies available in the Lobby. Great great place to stay!
Some nice upgrades since we last visited... the hotel feels refreshed and well-designed... a more luxurious stay. The room felt really comfortable and spacious and the furniture seemed new and the layout great for spreading out. The staff was helpful and the free breakfast gave us lots of choices. For the Connecticut shore, this is really an amazing deal!
Hotel was adequate and very clean. The offerings at breakfast and all day water and coffee are nice touches. My only ding is that I feel some of the front desk staff could be more friendly. The AC unit is very loud, ended up turning it off, but that caused it to be hot and stale in room. Overall, a decent choice for a few nights.
