We had a purpose and this seemed to be the best fit. Sites may be a little small if you are accustomed to RV Resorts. The park was designed in an era when 20 ft travel trailers were the big boys. Our 36 ft Class A fit well with Slides out we still had room between just not much. WiFi good, An impromptu ice cream social one evening, good hiking trails a very old Geocache in the area made for a busy and enjoyable location for us.
We stayed here for 3 nights in July. There are several retired folks that spend long periods of time there and they are very friendly and social. The park and the small town of LaVeta are quiet and relaxing. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent review is because the spaces are a little narrow and there isn't much room between the rigs. Other than that, it was great. Also the owner and the people that help her run it are really friendly and helpful if you need any information about the area. The picture is from the street right in front of the park. Awesome view.
Lucy's has all the right ingredients for a great place to stay, and the longer the better. The owners and on site manager make you feel at home and are very helpful. The sites are very clean, tidy, and shady, we felt we had plenty of room for our 32 foot fifth wheel. It's a pleasant 5 block walk into town, locals are always saying hello and very friendly. In addition to having town close by, just a short distance out of town is some of the most beautiful scenery I have seen in Colorado. The golf course gave a discount for a monthly membership as we were staying at Lucy's. Additionally Evelyn the manager arranges occasional activities that make getting together even more fun, such as pot luck night, pancake breakfast and one evening we thoroughly enjoyed an excellent guitarist that sang songs into the evening while we sat or danced under the stars. Look forward to returning and staying longer!
