checked after flight and when got to the room and once i opened the room door it smelled like smoke even when we requested nonsmoking, There was dust all over the room, only 2 towels, roaches all over the bathroom and half a roll of bathroom paper, 2 towels, The TV or cable where not even plugged in plus phone didn't even work. The picture frames where on the floor and there where holes in the wall. I was so disguised. The next door room was smoking and coming in to our room that just i could not even stand it. We got another room which was not much better. The sheets smelled of smoke. When we did go to complain the lady in-front advised us it will be a while since there was already more hotel guest complaining and requesting rooms changes also. I will never stay there and I will never recommend staying there.
I made the reservation on-line, and paid in full because I needed a low price, which I knew it might afford a low entry point of customer service but I never imaged what I would find. It was advertised as "Hotel Denver" which after making the reservation upon visiting Denver, Which by the way was my previous home town which I had moved 2 yrs prior. Once I made the "up-front" payment, I proceed to look for the address and location of the Hotel. Myself being familiar with the area for the last 30 years, I drove by what looked like the hotel, but it had a renovation sign on the building that said "Hotel OYO" which was kind of strange, so I drove down the street to see if something had moved, as this location was definitely under renovation. After driving up the street passing other hotels that were listed for more ($40 plus per nite) I decided to come back to see it this was truly the same "Hotel I had booked". The picture of the front look the same, so I went inside and decide to play stupid, and said: "I'm here for my reservation, which they pulled up". I thought "OK" I'll give them a run, but with a cautious tone in my thought, why would they advertise one name, as well as another (later I found out it was also under "Roadway inn on Pretoria". I found out shortly after checking in. We opened the door to our room, and were a gash, the second bed had two smoking holes in the bedspread, and we were told it was "non-smoking", as well as the microwave's digital face was hanging off and out away from the unit with the wires visible showing. We looked at the TV and the cabinet was showing the damage of the particleboard splitting with water damage. My girl wanted to leave then, but I said it was the price, even though the pictures projected differently. We tried to make the best of it until we needed a shower but found only two towels and one washcloth, then the roaches started to show up, one at a time. My lady began to get cold, but we found the a/c did not work, cold or hot. It was the worse experience for the money, but you get what you pay for, just don't miss advertise in the pictures or customer service.
Roaches, roaches, everywhere! Poor customer service. Sneaky thieves and liars at the front desk. Beware! This hotel goes by a few different names. It the Hotel Denver, Rodeway Inn and now it's called OYO Hotel. It's the hotel located at 3975 Peoria Way Denver Colorado.
The hotel charged my credit card for 2 nights, then gave my room away. Promised a refund but changed the date to make it look like I stayed on the night they gave my room away. Hours, Days and too much time trying to get them to do right. Lowdown and dirty in every aspect.
WORST HOTEL EVER!!! They discriminate against service animals! The will take your money and tell then ask you to leave. They call the police on their guest to issue refunds. The General Manager will go through your room and take pictures of your personal belongings when your not there. They will take money off your card and not tell you. They have a history of police being called there daily. The property is privately owned but the owner is never present. The employees are afraid to lose their job so they follow along with the general manager. Some employees will treat you rudely and have no good customer service. The rooms are not worth this treatment and they do not look good for the price they ask.
We paid $80+ for this motel room and it was not worth it at all. I don't even think this room was worth $40. The whole surrounding area was questionably unsafe. I am very surprised my truck didn't get broken into overnight.
I was reading reviews that this motel had bedbugs (after I had already booked it) so I was up half the night worrying and not sleeping well. I didn't have any issues with bedbugs though. The room had a weird smell to it. The stairs going to the second floor were filled with garbage and just very dirty. The door to the hotel room wouldn't shut all the way so there was a crack in it.
We didn't get a restful night's sleep at all. The front desk ladies were very sweet, but at this point, it was just too late to cancel and get refunded. There were no other decently priced motels in the area. We were desperate and that's why we had to stay here.
In short, do not stay here. We had a terrible experience and will never stay here again. Take heed of the other bad reviews and trust them. The whole place needs a serious renovation. Thanks for reading.
