I am so sorry to write a bad review, but I can not recommend this place. I am on a one year journey and I always stayed at budget places, but this one was really one of the worst places ever! I am still speechless... take a look to my pictures...

My check in was so bad. Nobody there, a reception doesn´t exist! You will never find anybody there! Nobody to answer your questions, no excursion arrangements, simply NOTHING! After 30 minutes waiting time, someone greated me, but the next problem: Only the owner is able to speak Englisch. She is a very nice and kind person, but the problem: you will never find her. That´s so bad for non speaking french people. So you have to work with a google translator when you need something, but the Wifi is so weak and often you have no connection, so you can not ask somebody for something, because they don´t understand you. And you have to ask a lot. There was no toilet paper in my room, no blanket, the light doesn´t work, a really bad smell in the bathroom, shower full of insects, seemed as it was not cleaned for a long, long time .... when you hang your clothes in the closet there will be immediately dirty, because of the dust inside.

The rooms are pretty nice the first sight, basic but lovely. Not pretty clean, but overall ok. The bed was comfortable but the bedsheets were full of holes. NO roomcleaning within 6 days (cleaning, new towels, toiletpaper and so on). Cleaned my room by myself! Several times a day, the power fails and sometimes NO water in the shower or the sink. The Mosquitonet on the window broken!

The next issue: you have to share the Roundhut with other guests. There are two rooms in each Hut. Should be no problem, but.... absolutely not sound proof! You hear everything from your neighbours, even the snoring at night. After the first sleepless night (got very loud neighbours) they give me a room without neighbours for the following days, thanks therefore.

If you expect to relax on daytime on the pool or the beach, forget it. The beach is absolutely dirty, full of rubbish, not to use. There is construction work the whole day, its so loud and disturbing. Also the whole place ist full of rubbish, they leave the rubbish simply everywhere on the property, sometimes it really smells bad. Dogs and Cats, even a goat runs throughout the property the whole day. It could be so nice, the potential is there, but nobody cares.

There is a poor sheep, alone, totally emaciate, without species-appropriate feed, on a very short leash, without freedom of movement, absolute cruelty of animals in my eyes.

The breakfast is a joke: Instant coffee, Baguette, Croissant, thanks god a tasty crepe, but no eggs, no fruits (except bananas), no sausage, no cheese! If you like eggs, you have to pay 1500 XAF (2,50 Dollar) extra, ridiculous! The restaurant got a very bad service. The Menu (of course only in french language) is very limited. Nothing for vegetarians! I am not a vegetarian but I don´t like meat every day. No Pasta or sandwiches available. After order you have to wait up to an hour to get your food, and then it isnt´t very tasty and overpriced for the quality you´ll get. And so sorry I have to say this the dishes are dirty! You have no option to eat outside, when you are without a car, there is simply nothing in the surroundings, except a small shop. You are really in the middle of nowhere.

I tried to ask for excursions, but again, no reception, no contact person. They didn´t arranged anything!

But one of the biggest problem for me was that I didn´t felt safe. I am a solo traveller woman and many men there (staff and mostly guest) harassed me. They knocked on my door, asked for my cell-phone number and so on. This happen everywhere in Senegal, but in a hotel I expect a well trained staff which doesn´t harassed women. There is no security on the property. I was not able to use a sunbed because the men stearing and talking to me (and almost all sunbeds are broken and no umbrellas). I felt so uncomfortable.

I moved after 6 days to an other Hotel, although I had booked 13.

After 114 visited countries it was the first time i changed a place and I am definitely not a sensitive character. I understand and I know, that you can´t compare the Standard with European Countries, but a minimum of cleanliness, corporate hospitality and a working reception you can expect. you finally pay and this place is not an airbnb or a guesthouse (often even better), it is a Hotel!

I wrote a complain one day after arrival to my travelagency. They tried to contact the Hotel but of course, without success. And the Hotel doesn´t offer me refund. What a shame... but I was glad to finally leave this place and sometimes money is not the most important thing in life.

When we are in Senegal we usually visit the hotel Le Warang in Mbour, because it has a familiar atmosphere. All the bungalows are well equipped, the kitchen is fantastic, especially the fresh pancake breakfast! The Atlantic Ocean with the beach is only a few steps from the hotel's pool. Also this is the best hotel to stay if you want to visit the Bandia Reserve, or the Saloum Delta National Park.

A Hotel Le Warang a tökéletes hotel Mbour városában.

We made a round trip Early Nov. 2013 through Senegal and end-up for 3 days in the Warang Hotel we choose through Trip Advisor. We enjoyed very much staying there as the hotel is very special in a lot of ways: very nice and friendly owners, special architecture with bungalows in form of traditional 'case' spread throughout the garden, excellent food, generous breakfast, clean beach, nice big pool, etc... The owner can organize trips to Mbour, Djembé lessons and other activities, Highly to recommend !

Excellent pool and lounge/bar/restaurant area right on the beach which was very clean, spacious rooms with excellent beds, delicious food and generous breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff and owner. All that and walking distance to the wonderful liqueur distillery 'liqueurs de warang'. Only negatives we encountered were no mosquito net on the bed and lack of staff trained to use the credit card machine-so had to pay cash.

This place is not clean, not well kept, and the service is poor.

Here are the good qualities: has a pool, on the beach, good food.

That's it.

And the beach is dirty (see below, regarding management), and the food takes hours--though if the rest were ok, we could deal with that.

The room smelled rank, there were goats in the yard, the management has an "I could care less" attitude, the management's children run wild all over the place with no supervision, the walls are peeling and crumbling in places. You can do so much better for the money. I would never go back.
