This is not a luxury hotel, yet it's a real luxury to be able to stay at Bharatpur Palace in Pushkar. Pushkar is a sacred place, but I doubt you'll be able to get a hold of that by staying anywhere else (and I have stayed in other hotels in Pushkar in previous trips). This is one of the only two hotels right at the lake. From your room you'll be able to have direct views of chanting and worship ceremonies, the sunrise over the lake, the everyday flow of pilgrims and procession of cows and monkeys. And at the same time it will be always super quite and tranquil, away from the bazaar, even though you are 10 seconds away from it. The terraces are absolutely brilliant, with beautiful decoration and comfy seats. The palace is a wonderful traditional Rajasthani place, and therefore the rooms might not seem all that luxurious, but I rejoiced every moment I spent there. My small single room had two deliciously delicate windows, beautiful decoration, and super thick walls that kept it fresh throughout the day. On other notes, wifi was superb, the showers were the best I have seen in India, it's super clean, and the family that host, lead by the resourceful and friendly Meena, will surely help it to make a memorable stay. I felt finding Bharatpur Palace was a gift, I didn't even know you could have this experience at such affordable prices. Very grateful!
PS: consider that at 5am there will be sacred chants next door, a beautiful sight in itself, so go to sleep early and adapt to the holy timetable of such a great town.
The best location in Pushkar, next to the lake in a perfect angle. Wonderful terraces. Simple hotel. Wonderful food and drinks. Very lovely care and service. Rooms are beautiful in a simple way. They have all you need. Only some rooms have a bathroom in the room.
Although short, we had a lovely, relaxing stay at this lakeside palace. The hosts were so lovely, helping us with queries and having chats up on the balcony, overlooking the beautiful holy lake and gazing upon monkeys, cows and birds.. All while sipping the best homemade Masala Chai in Rajasthan. Our room was clean and cosy too. Would highly recommend, excellent value for money. We felt right at home here. Can’t wait to return and stay for much longer.
We had a very very pleasant stay at this place. The couple who runs the guest house are very friendly. The food is good, too. They helped us get a taxi booked back to Jaipur. Our room was small but sufficient and comfortable for two.
Meena our hostess was wonderful, a warm, gentle and caring woman. Room was clean and opened to a patio that overlooked the ghats and lake. Staff were attentive.
End Nov, early Dec is wedding season so be prepared for noisy music and fireworks until around midnight. And as it is on the ghats you will be awoken by the bells and noise af the bathers if you are a light sleeper.
