A beatiful renovated boutique hotel. Everything was perfect, the room, pool, food, location, the staff..Don't miss the chance to take a boat to the beach ...and to do backwater trip....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The staff was great. helpful and patient. Location is wonderful. As well as the swimming pool. Clean big rooms and bathrooms. This place has almost private sandy beach. You can self row kayak to get there which was free attraction for kids. In early morning fisher man
get back from the sea and open some kind of beach market 200 meters to the south. You can buy very cheap fresh, and get it to hotel kitchen for cooking
To summarize this place is simple and best. I got this booked via MakeMyTrip and the agent suggested this over phone. To my surprise this place is awesome.
1. Hospitality: The hotel owners are the brothers who manages the hotel. They welcomed us in person and they relaxed voluntarily one few rules such as late checkout and swimming pool times. They talked very politely and welcoming as we are guest to their home.
2. Room & hotel: Very clean and nice wooden interiors. Very calm hotel kind of a resort, 1 km away from marari beach. at the backwaters, clean swimming pool, very clean hotel. Staffs are helping from heart and not for tips.
3. Food: Food is yummy and even during breakfast they accommodate our special request and cooked them too. They added local kerala flavors even in pancake by stuffing coconut and banana in the pancake. kids loved it.
4. Kayaking: Free kayaking boat. you can reach clean beach when you kayak from the hotel.
5. its a perfect hotel.
We went to Marari (before heading to Cochin - Kochi) back in December 2016. I think we stayed three nights there : what a dream !! We took a rowing boat to attend the fishermen beach nearby, borrowed bicycles for a ride around (to go to further places such a a bigger beach), we enjoyed the swimming pool.... extremely attentive, delicate and discreet staff/owners, there are only a few rooms (I don't remember if it's 4-5 ?) at least back when we were there which made this place like a small house. The bedroom was perfect, incredible shower (feeling of out door because there was no roof). Beautifully decorated place (the whole boutique hotel).
Very good cooked meals. Everything was perfect out there.
We enjoyed a three night stay here. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had a lovely outdoor bathroom. Food was good but we had better at other establishments during our 7 week tour of India. The pool is small but adequate for a cooling off dip. The riverside location is pretty and it is walking distance to the nearby beach. Parts of the beach were not especially clean and during our visit we saw a dead dog and lots of human excrement along the shoreline. Suffice to say, we only visited the beach once which was a pity as this was the reason for our stay. There are canoes available but we did not use them but you can easily navigate the lagoon to the beach if you want. We did hire the bikes which had seen better days but were fit for purpose. At the end of our stay we paid using our credit card and there was a charge which we had not been advised about. A small thing but left a bad taste. Our stay was nice but we would not return.
