We had a for night stay at Marari dreams and it more than meet our expectations. Alwyn and jencie were perfect hosts and we're very helpful in arranging trips. We used the cycles to explore locally. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the private pool. The highlight of the trip was jencies cooking. We are at the hotel every night as the food was so good. Thoroughly recommend the hotel.
Even before I arrived at this beautiful place I felt it would be great because of all the support and help Allwyn offered me before I arrived, to make sure my mini tour of Kerala went well.
My expectations were exceeded ! The accommodation here has a great location near to pristine Marari Beach, and a nearby market, temple, church, and amazing fish market. . The welcome is warm and super friendly.
Each little villa is charming, with its own private pool, and all the amenities you need. There is both air conditioning and a quiet roof fan, so take your pick! The room has tea/coffee facilities and bottled water. The bathrooms are so lovely, partially open air, and with lush greenery.
It only gets better! The hostess, Jenzi, is a master cook, and prepares for you a full and varied breakfast to keep you going all day. Before breakfast, take one of the bikes and watch the local fisherman bringing in the days catch.
Eat in Marari Dreamz and you will be treated to delicious Kerala delicacies, lovingly home made and served. I popped down to the local alcohol store to get some beer in the fridge, to wash all this goodness down.
You can either completely relax here, by the pool, take the five minute walk to the glorious white and quiet beach, or trip down to Alllepey, Venice of India, to cruise the backwaters.
Of course, what makes it are the two hosts Allwyn and Jenzi, and their wonderful staff, who are invisible but always on hand if required. I thank them all for making my stay memorable - and would like to think I will be back some day.
This was the first stop for my wife and I on a trip around Kerala. On arrival the owners spent time with us to explain activities in the area and then showed us to a large and comfortable room. My favourite feature was the beautiful shower - while very private, it was open air and had luscious foliage all around it.
Another wonderful feature was the breakfast and dinners - all cooked onsite by the excellent Jency. Authentic Keralan fish, meat, chicken and vegetable dishes were all superb, and she very kindly showed us several creative combinations of local ingredients and techniques.
Lastly, the dogs and cats also deserve praise as they were all very polite and friendly throughout.
It was my second trip to Allwyn and Jency's beautiful homestay after 10 years of being away and it was more lovely than ever. What a lot of work had been done to make it more of a retreat than it was before without it losing its charm. My two friends and I arrived long before check in time but the couple still gave us breakfast and teas and coffees whilst we waited. The reception has been turned into a cosy hideaway with lots of books, comfy seats, music and trinkets where one feels properly chilled out. We also had a shared pool to dip in with stunning lush vegetation surrounding it and clear fountains flowing into the pool. Our room had so many lovely touches with a unique bathroom that had a tree growing through the roof giving such a tropical feel that having a shower was very much an experience1 The home made food that we had for breakfast and dinner, was plentiful and authentic and a relief from the spices of Goa! It was lovely to have such a taste of Kerala.
Whilst we were at the homestay, we visited Marari Beach which is only a stones throw away, the backwaters where Allwyn arranged a sunrise kayaking tour for us, and the beautiful Portugese city of Fort Kochi which was another amazing experience. There are also elephant rides not too far also. Its a great place to explore the area whilst having a bit of luxury at home. All in all, one of my favourite travelling experiences and can't rate the couple highly enough for their hospitality. We hope to see you again soon!
Me and my friends visited Marari Dreamz Homestay in August 2022. Wow what a place we arrived there with little sleep from our train journey of 12 hours from Goa. When we arrived at Allwyn and Jency's we were straight away welcomed in and made to feel at home, this was much appreciated after our long train journey. They let us relax in the common area until are room was ready, once ready Allwyn showed us to our room which was beautifully presented and very clean and welcoming. The bathroom was stunning 😍. We relaxed for a little then got straight in the pool and what a amazing place that is beautiful surrounded by plants and with some lovely music playing in the background all so chilled and magical.
Whilst there both Allwyn and Jency were super lovely and their staff were lovely too. Everyone was really helpful and welcoming. We had breakfast on one main meal which was all amazing and very tasty made by Jency. I cant fault anything from this homestay and would 100% go back.
What a special place that I will always remember Thanks ❤️❤️❤️
