We concluded our trip of South India at Marari Dreamz which was the ideal place to relax. The resort style villas are modern, clean, comfortable and safe and within walking distance to Marari Beach. This is one of the best clean beaches in South India which offers an expanse of sandy beach. Each morning fisherman set sail on traditional man-made boats to secure their catch of the day.
Marari Dreamz is managed by Allwyn and Jency, who have years of experience in tourism and hospitality - so much so that you feel part of their family. I personally fell in love with their dog Chengu.
They are both generous, honest, kind and will even offer cooking classes. Jency cooks an array of fresh dishes daily which inspire you to continue cooking back home (she'll even provide the recipes).
Allwyn and Jency will inform you about activities available in the area and will arrange any transport, bookings and ticket requirements that you may need.
Allwyn took us to an incredible sunset spot along Marari Beach which was truly memorable.
You can enjoy a trip to a working coir factory where you will see how coconut husks are turned into beautiful floor mats, visit a traditional Ayurveda home for an authentic massage using natural organic oils (off the beaten tourist path), take a shopping trip to the hustle and bustle of Alleppey (The Indian Coffee house is worth the visit), or enjoy a cruise on Kerala's beautiful Alleppey backwaters in a traditional 'kettuvallom.'
I would most certainly stay here again.

We researched the area carefully before making our choice. Marari dreamz received the best reviews of all of the places we shortlisted by far. You never quite know until you arrive just how accurate the reviews you've read are, but we were not disappointed.
The first thing to be said about the resort is that the Alwyn and Jenci, our hosts, are what make it great. They make you feel as if your the first guests who ever visited them, without being over the top. After a long flight and a not so long road trip to get to them, they new exactly what we needed; A cool and refreshing drink and a relaxing chat while they helped us to get our bearings. By the time we were ready to go to our room we were 'wowed' by what we saw. They've thought of every little detail in putting each room together and each has a character all of its own. The rooms have been organised in such a way that you feel as if you're the only guests there.
Marari Dreamz is situated in the heart of a natural environment filled with birdsong and an assortment of mature trees and vegetation. We'd come to relax and thats exactly what we were able to do. In the daytime, we spent time on the gorgeous beach, a 10 minute walk away, took bicycles and explored the village and hinterland and took a day trip in the backwaters. One day we had a relaxing massage and on another a pedicure.
Each evening when we returned, we were served the most delicious of meals prepared by Jenci. Even though there are other eating options, there's really no need to go anywhere else. The cuisine is unbeatable.
We cannot recommend Marari dreamz highly enough. We'll certainly stay there again when we return.
Really enjoyed our recent four night stay in the Sky room at Marari Dreamz.
Huge bedroom and balcony, all very clean.
Allwyn and Jency were great hosts, really kind and helpful, and Jency’s food was amazing.
We loved exploring the quiet local roads with the free bikes. Everyone was so friendly.
The pool was lovely after a days sightseeing, however the mats on the sun beds could possibly do with being renewed. The beach is ok with a few sun loungers and beach cafes, however it shelves deeply and the waves are quite large. It was great for watching the morning fishermen though, and generally enjoying the sea breeze.
We thought it was a good spot for soaking up rural life by the beach but also within easy reach of Alleppey. We would love to return one day.
We really enjoyed our time at Marari Dreamz. Allwyn and Jency made us feel very welcome. The home cooked food was spectacular and to eat in the privacy of our own terrace was great. It was a very friendly place to stay, we enjoyed watching Jency cook, we appreciated being able to use the bicycles to get to the village and to watch the fishermen arrive back in the morning. The outdoor bathroom was lovely too. A very spacious, clean room and nothing seemed too much trouble for our hosts. I would recommend without hesitation. Be aware that this property does not provide wine or beer, as you would expect in a homestay. The government run off license is easily accessed a short cycle ride away.
Allwin and Jency are fabulous hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they’re always there to help. The area is one of the more peaceful in Kerala but that said there is still plenty to do from back waters tours to massage therapy. The beach is a short walk and not crowded at all with only one major resort on the beach road. There are a few beach cafes serving simple food at a relaxed pace but if your in a hurry why would you be on a beach in this glorious country.
Food: Jency prepares and cooks breakfast and dinner. She is a skilled and accomplished cook. Breakfast each day was different from the last and equally as tasty with local specialities alongside fresh fruit and fresh juice. Dinner again focusses along local cuisine and with a abundance of really fresh fish in the area Jency delivers different fish in a variety of styles and flavours. I kid you not when I say Jency is a fine and skilful cook. If you can’t get a room here ask if you can still come for dinner. It is one of my culinary highlights. We stayed at their new place just 1 minute cycle ride away (complimentary bikes). Fully fitted out but not ready as a home stay yet but it looked and felt great with nice modern finishes and a clean pool. If like me you like a cheeky beer from time to time then you’ll need to go to the local liquor store about 2k away but if that’s too much of a trek then the big resort has a bar you can ask to use. None of the beach cafes serve beer.
In short Marari Dreamz will always be in my dreams like a little piece of heaven
