On the basis of a strong recommendation we decided to spend a night with evening meal and breakfast at this small remote family hotel high in the hills of western Cyprus. We were not disappointed! Warmly welcomed by owner manager Soulla we were given a large comfortable room with balcony with panoramic views of the hills and mountains around. Our evening meal was excellent, with beautifully cooked whole sea bream and vegetarian moussaka. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent too, with fresh orange juice and scrambled egg and mushrooms, cooked to order. For us this was an exceptionally enjoyable brief stay, and we have every intention of returning in the future. And very good value too. Off the beaten track but well worth a detour.
I recently visited the quieter areas of Cyprus. I dont do "Brits on Tour!"
Whilst traveling through the small villages I cam across The Paradisos Hills Hotel. My traveling companion had visited the Hotel 10 years ago whilst appearing on Escape to the Sun.
On arrival, we were popping in for a drink and for me to see some Luxury in the area with a view to booking at a later date, we were met by the Owners who after a short introduction remembered the visits from years gone by.
The Hotel complex was in an amazing location. Far from the Madding Crowds. Nestleed on the side of the mountain and outside the perimeter of the village the Hotel afforded everything I was looking for. Views, calm and tranquility. The views are spectacular.
I was given an escorted trip around the grounds ending up in a preferred bedroom of my choice. I was not disappointed. Quaintly furnished in moderate style the rooms looked so inviting I could have just finished my journey there and then.
We took advantage of the bar and were suitably refreshed.
I have promised myself and my wife a return visit. This time we will stay. I was impressed by the reception we were given and would like to think it wont be too long before we actually stay there as guests.
Whilst there a young couple were organising their forthcoming wedding. The pair were obviously enchanted by all the Hotel had to offer too.
Roll on 2020.
PS. The local Village of Lysos has a couple of Tavernas and a small shop. Additionally I was informed of the Village Autumn Fair which is amazing.
We've just returned from our first visit to Cyprus and we're so glad we chose this lovely hotel. The setting is second to none - up in the green hills with the most glorious view of both the mountains and the sea, but within reasonably easy reach, by car, of Polis and the coast.
We did hire a car for our whole stay as we wanted to explore the island, but there were several days when we were content to go nowhere and laze by the pool (it's big enough for a proper swim), being looked after superbly by Soulla, Philip and Nikki, who are all siblings, and their staff. Nikki is the cook, and she serves up fresh, wholesome traditional Cypriot food as well as burger and chips etc, for those who want that option. There are specials on the menu every day and vegans/vegetarians are catered for without question.
Our room was in the original part of the hotel and was a good size and comfortable with a private balcony overlooking the pool and the view. Tatiana and Alena made sure everything was kept scrupulously clean on a daily basis (and Tatiana even taught Debbie to say 'good morning' in Russian!).
In summary, we had an amazing time and would recommend Paradisos Hills to anyone who wants a tranquil holiday in a beautiful location with warm, sincere service. The hotel is family owned and run and is much loved, and it shows.
A family well run hotel, clean, with very nice views and less humidity! Most of all, tasty cyprus food! A little gem overall! Reasonable prices. Better room rates through phone, contacting the hotel. Thanks, Soula and Nickie!
