Exactly a month ago, four of us found ourselves warmly invited into the home of Helene and her partner. Anuj, who spent a lot of time researching, decided to not tell us much before we arrived. From being utterly clueless to being completely enthralled, we have possibly had our best stay in Goa, yet. The home is nothing short of an exquisite masterpiece. Helene made sure she gave us the best possibly walk down history as we slowly explored her home and picked our rooms. The long conversations with her along with her legendary breakfast (especially her home baked breads) will always be special. Make sure you ask her for her recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We experienced North Goa in a way that we had never before. No pictures can ever do justice to our time spent there- in the rooms, waking up to jazz and lazying around for hours in the pool. Will definitely come back and stay longer, for two nights is not enough!

Quite well travelled , but lazy when it comes to writing a review . This place tends to leave an impact for a while ... So much so that you'll dream about it .

Right from the moment you first interact over the phone till the last good bye , our awe of Mrs H and Derek kept getting larger. The way they greeted us always felt so much like home. So 2 couples around 30 Our intention was to party till we drop and this was the first time we tried a homestay purely because last min and nothing else was available to our liking. This place felt little expensive at the time of booking but worth every single penny and a lot more ....

There are just so many things that were simply PERFECT H's Eggs or the pool or their Spot on suggestions for things to do .... As a couple they could and should write a book about their experiences ... Every moment there was a moment of indulgence .

The house in itself captures a century or so of goan time and every part has its own character and a story to tell ... Very luxurious and modern at the same time , please do not be afraid to ask for whatever you want while you are there , they really do go out of their way to make you feel at home.

It''s the perfect home when you want it to be ... It will leave you speechless ... I insist on this being in your bucket list of places in India you MUST VISIT before you die ... Just leave yourselves to them and Do not leave without spending an evening with them just talking ... It provided a much needed inspiration for me ...

Mrs H cant thank you enough ... Will see you soon ...

The secret garden is a hidden retreat, tastefully curated by Helene. From cute wind-chimes at the doors, antique furniture, colourful garden decor, a well-lit pool to an AMAZING BREAKFAST that she cooks for her guests, using the vegetables and fruits that she grew herself in her garden!!! You’d see a ‘chikoo’ tree right by the pool side, and all the other vegetables growing around. The place is luxurious and yet authentic, in contrast with the nature around it. It can inspire anyone to create, learn and just to live fully in the moment, for a while! They try to provide their guests with utmost convenience, from booking a scooter for their stay to arranging a pick-up and drop, from the airport. And the best part is, you won’t even realise when the house- keeping will just quickly fix your room, while you’ll be having your breakfast or taking a dip in the pool. As soon as you come back to your room, you’ll see your bed, all made, water bottle refilled with cold water, cleaned bathroom and used towels replaced with the fresh ones.
Our stay lasted for 3 days and honestly, the beautiful memories from this place have hijacked everything else that we did in Goa.

Gosh, your lovely feedback brought tears to my eyes! So thoughtful of you to take time out and write about your time with us. There is an enormous amount of effort that goes into each guests stay, but we try not to make that too apparent - it is really important to us that our visitors have the best experience in Goa, and take away memories to cherish. Looks like we did that with you guys, seems that you not only noticed all the details but you really appreciated all that we do. On behalf of Team TSGG THANK YOU!! Hope to welcome you back again soon, be well. Team TSGG

The most gorgeous Goan home stay. Helene is a lovely host and made our stay here a memorable one.
Our beautiful Malabar room opened up to the garden and the pool. There was so much attention paid to the details, this kind of service you won't find in any hotel.
This place is an oasis of calm and relaxation.
The house retains its Goan heritage and is yet modern. The staff was lovely and we had the most amazing breakfast. Some lovely freshly baked bread and eggs, plus a great choice of teas, cereals, jams and her home made key lime pie.
It's definitely better than staying in a 5 star hotel. We felt at home here and hope to back soon.
Definitely one of the best places we have stayed in Goa.

The Secret Garden is a very special place, quite magical. From the moment you enter you know your stay will be wonderful. Me and my husband stayed in the Malibar room but the other two bedrooms were equally beautiful in their own way. Our bed was dreamily comfortable, and the whole room and bathroom a delight to be in.

Everywhere you look, both inside and out there are special touches, everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. We loved the pool and garden and seeing the amazing butterflies and birds.

Helene is a beautiful and talented host and her cooking is to die for! She prepared our breakfasts which really were fit for royalty.

We stayed for three nights and I wish it could have been longer, I just didn’t want to leave and hope we can return again one day

Wow! What a simply delightful review - I'm blushing, thank you so much for your kind words - a wonderful start to a very busy day. Really happy that you came to stay and TSGG exceeded your expectations. It is lovely that you enjoyed the little 'touches' as much as I enjoy creating them and that you found everything to your liking. It is good to be spoilt every now and then and I certainly enjoyed spoiling both for the duration of your stay. Missing our chats! Have a lovely day ahead and hope to welcome you and D back through the gates of TSGG in the near future. Warmest regards, Helene and all The Team at TSGG xxx
