Stayed one night courtesy of Argentina Airlines after our flights were cancelled due to an airline strike.

Excellent position on the corner of the main historic square. The hotel is slightly dated and whilst the room was 'tired' it was more than adequate. The breakfast area was good and a reasonable breakfast. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a nice lounge where you can rest and wait. They will also look after your luggage should you have an afternooon or later flight

The Colonial Hotel is very well located next to Plaza 9 de Julio and close to historic churches and many restaurants. The style of the hotel is classic and it's like stepping back in time! Rooms are of a good size and very tidy and clean.

The restaurant serves a great breakfast - lots of variety on the breakfast buffet - croissants, breads, juices, fruit, and best of all, dulce de leche tart.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Wifi barely worked in our room, but was fine in the common areas (cafe and lounge area on the first floor). There is a cute outdoor seating area on this floor too.

Lots of great things about this Hotel.....staff is very friendly, right from the front desk , to the breakfast room staff, to the housekeeping staff. We really appreciate how the Hotel has been kept in “period time”, pictures, furniture, etc. While our room was spacious, It needed some tlc, but was very clean. The location was very central, so we enjoyed being able to walk and explore the historical Center of town and surrounding blocks!

José and Aida's attention made our stay so enjoyable in spite of the issues we were having with our cards. The location is so convenient just in front of the main square and our room had a great view to San Francisco church and the mountains. The hotel style is a beautiful vintage-colonial. And we were gladly surprised with the great variety in the included breakfast! Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend.

From the moment we entered the hotel we were charmed by the reception, by the atmosphere and by the building. The personnel is takes care of you in a discrete way. The lounges, the little juliette balcony of our room, the breakfast room, the elevators, situated at the main square 9 de julio. Breakfast with fresh fruit, home made fruit sallad, bread of different kinds, juices, etc. Just a few steps away from Mueso de Alta Montaña, the Cabildo and the Cathedral. The best choice in Salta.
