Stayed here for 2 weeks with my uncle and my brother, what a lovely place, everything so old school but modern at the same time, clean sheets and a tidy room every day. Comfortable beds, TV, radio what more can you ask for. Lovely pool with hammocks around the outside. Also a stream rubbing through the place one of the only ones in camps bay. Brilliant wildlife and a well maintained place. Also provides washing and ironing facilities which are done for you at a very cheap price. Close to all the restaurants and the beach. Will most defiantly be visiting again! 🌟
I went here for a week in February and stayed in apartment C. I cannot recommend the place enough. Our balcony has a lovely hammock that we could relax on in the evenings. There is a lovely stream next to the premise and the pool area is absolutely stunning. You are about a 20min walk away from the white sandy beach so it's nice and tranquil but you are also close enough to great bars and food. I would honestly come back and stay here if/when I come back to Cape Town.
I even left a charger in the room and they managed to get it to me before our flight. The entire team that runs the place are lovely.
Having grown up in Camps Bay we were looking for something special when returning for a family visit. We didn't want glitz and chrome and modern hotels, but something more personal and private. Number 40 Rottingdean Rd is a real gem in the perfect position for walking to the beach or lovely restaurants close by.
Studio B was nestled amongst trees in a most natural, rustic setting with the delightful sound of the river gushing through the garden. This is a spacious room perfect for 3 adults. The choice of braai areas and decks to enjoy the natural surroundings is great.
There are many hammocks, couches and swings over the pool which makes for a good place for families or singles alike with private nooks abounding. Even though we were there in Autumn it was still perfect.
We returned a few months later with a larger family and took the main house at street level. It is really big and could easily fit in two families. Very nicely fitted out kitchen and rustic bathrooms. Absolutely gorgeous view from the lounge and deck. Our favourite feature was the huge window looking onto the sea in dining room/lounge with a bed underneath to relax and read on. The deck is big and perfect for entertaining with a table and braai facilities with pool just below. The panoramic view of the mountains and sea is second to none.
The whole property is serviced by friendly and helpful staff. The owner/host Mark is a fabulous guy who couldn't do enough for us. It was such a pleasure to book and deal with him directly. As a local he has loads of recommendations for the surrounding area.
This property has it all to offer from cosy to double studio to a spacious home. If you're looking for rustic, natural. peaceful and safe place, this is the one for you.
We spent 4 nights here in October 17. We stayed in suite B Lisa. The room was down a flight of external stairs that had been hand formed. They were uneven and treacherous particularly after dark when the lighting was poor. The room was cave like it was so shaded that it was cold and damp. Electric cables trailed around the room. The cupboards were poorly fitted and chipboard on the work surfaces was exposed. Mirrors in the bathroom have cracks across them and the room never dries out. We are two men having a whistle stop tour of South Africa finishing here after a fantastic holiday. We put up with the accommodation but would not stop here when we return with our wives next year. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
The location is excellent, the tropical garden a dream and the staff are hepful and kind- the place is wonderful if you like quaint places. Large pool, hammocks, views of the ocean from the top deck. It's peaceful and you can hear the ocean from your bedroom.
