Pratap Bhawan was our favorite lodging in India. We stayed in big chain and boutique hotels, but this small B &B turned out to be just perfect. Owners Himanshu and Deepti, and popcorn-loving dogs made our stay absolutely delightful. Their staff, especially Pratash, were especially helpful.

We stayed for nine nights in a little cottage in the back of the property. The cottage was comfortable, clean and quiet at night. After a full and hot day of seeing the sites and shopping in Jaipur, we looked forward to sitting on the cottage porch drinking tea, reviewing our day, and watching the daily visits of peacocks who lived in the neighborhood.

Dinner was always a treat featuring a different cooked vegetable specialty dish each evening. Himanshu is a naturalist; his photos of lions and leopards adorned the dining room and our bedroom. Deepti was always available to suggest places not to miss and to help with the more difficult tasks of how to make train and hotel reservations for our return to Delhi. She always arranged for us to have a good driver for each day's venture in Jaipur

We think of our stay at Pratap Bhawan as one of comfort, pleasure, and relaxation and would love to return.

After staying in lots of Airbnb's in different countries I can say that this was one of the best Airbnb's I have stayed in. I was lucky to get the cottage which is beautifully constructed and well maintained. You have the perfect isolation and the unit is pretty big with upmarket appliances and luxurious bathroom. This airbnb was very clean and the hospitality was amazing. We had round the clock room service and the breakfast in the morning was amazing. Himanshu and his family are amazing host and I will always stay at this place whenever I visit Jaipur. Himanshu has lots of knowledge about the tourist destinations and wild life spots near the Jaipur so make sure you talk to him before you go out on the city tour. Location is pretty close to airport( 15min drive) and all kinds of taxis, auto and other modes of transportation are available right at the door step. Definitely recommend this place to any local or foreign visitor.

We stayed for 3 nights and had an excellent stay! We joined in the cooking demo on our first night and it was great to get a chance to know our hosts as well as another family that came for the demo and dinner. We also were able to enjoy a private yoga session on the patio thanks to their personal recommendation. The room itself was very large and the bathroom was huge. I would definitely stay here again if I get back to Jaipur!

but I am grateful to have landed at Himanshu & Deepti's wonderful home stay. I became incredibly sick on the flight traveling from Karnataka to Jaipur and thankfully had pre-arranged a driver with Himanshu to pick me up at the airport. When I arrived at the homestay, Himanshu's employees literally carried me up the stairs to my room where Himanshu took one look at me and offered to call a physician to come ASAP. I couldn't have been treated better. The Doctor made 4 consecutive visits to see me where he administered medicines, provided lab results and carried through on my diagnosis. Himanshu and Deepti were so incredibly attentive checking on me several times a day and providing me with liquids and delicious home-cooked food. And I couldn't have designed a better room to heal in--super clean, comfortable bed and beautiful furnishings, a strong AC, beautiful wildlife photographs (taken by Himanshu), nice sunlight, quiet, cable TV (only time in India I watched English movies), and a phone where I could call for food or beverages to be brought up. It was unfortunate to get so ill during my travels in India, but the Gods provided me a wonderful place, surrounded by kind people who cared for me like family and helped me recover. God willing, I would love to visit again on my next trip to India. Agalee baar thak (until next time)...._/\_

The hostess was helpful and charming but regrettably only appeared twice during our stay. We had the downstairs room which was remote from the upstairs rooms and we were unsure as to whether we could use the sitting area in the dining room. The waiter/general helper had very limited English which made things more difficult than usual, and sadly we thought his cleanliness left something to be desired. The paintwork to doors and surrounds was dirty in the bedroom and main areas and generally sub standard. We had a vegetarian evening meal which was very ordinary to say the least and did not represent value for money. The wildlife photographs were good but otherwise the accommodation was at best average.
