This hotel is a nightmare.
We (2 girls from germany in age of 25) booked a room and when we got there, they told us that there is no space left for us. that there has been something wrong with the system, but that‘s not their problem, we had to talk to our booking website.
It was almost midnight, first time in mumbai in the heat with all the luggage and because of a marathon in the city every hotel was full (and we were surrounded by the redlight district).
they couldn‘t have cared less about our safety and where we would spend the night now - NO HELP AT ALL, RUDE AND UNPOLITE BEHAVIOR, LIES and one guy even pretended to call the police as we didn‘t leave the place to find a solution.
It was rediculous.
by the way there were other guests around who booked from other websites and had the same problem, so guess who caused a mistake here?
in the end they ignored us, we managed by ourselves to find a location to stay, but seriously - this experience totally marked our trip and this place doesn‘t even deserve one star.
go find any better ones with kind people and caring service and where they won‘t tell you lies like in HOTEL ORIENT.

In MakeMytrip website this is listed as Hotel Orient Palace. But both are the same. Of all the budget hotels (Less than Rs.3000 per night) I've stayed in Mumbai, this one is the best.

Pros:
1. Complimentary breakfast includes boiled eggs, chapati with curry, omlet, juice, bread with jam & butter - good enough for business travellers.
2. A/C which works :)
3. They give dental kit - which is very helpful for business travellers
4. Decently maintained room.

Hardly any cons for the price you pay. Mobile signals are very weak inside the rooms, so you have to come till reception to make a voice call.
Wi-fi is weak, which is expected in such hotels.
The area is very congested & cab drivers get confused with this lane.

The room size and bathroom size is very very small as compared to the price they charge you. Also, the parking they provide is by the road and uncovered. Thirdly, the free breakfast they offer is horrible. Only plain untoasted bread with butter and omlette with tea. I believe they charge a very high price for the services and room quality they offer.

I booked the hotel by looking at the reviews and photos at go ibibo. But unfortunately the I was fooled. The room was the same but the size was extremely small and congested. The bathroom is so small that two fat people cannot stand inside the bathroom at the same time.

This hotel is quite centrally placed in Southern Mumbai.. however, that is about it.. the service the hotel management offers is just terrible. The rooms are only cleaned when a guest specifically requests, otherwise they are not cleaned!
The beds were hard, it was like sleeping on a board. When we asked for a room change, the other beds were a bit ok, but some had lumpy mattresses. The towels have stains on them, the bedsheets too. These are also only changed when a guest tells them.
The a/c was quite strong, and had no adjustable valve, so we only had two options, freeze in the cold or switch it off and use only the fan!
The bathrooms are dirty and pathetic, the ceiling has holes and the shower door just doesn't close well, so result is water all over the floor. The soap they provide is a cheap foul smelling thin chip, we then just bought our own.
The drains in the bathroom were not covered, hence wehad to resort to covering them with buckets.
The hangers and hooks in the bathroom and room were filthy with a thick layer of grime and dust on it! We had to clean those ourselves in order to use them!
The tv would switch off itself, when we would request someone at the reception to help us out, they would be very rude.
Even after complaints and requests, they would not just comply, they would only do what they felt like!
All in all a terrible hotel, if only they would give better service and keep it clean, then it would be much better. Never again are we going to this hotel!
