We had taken the twin a/c room while traveling in (1 night) and out (1 night) of Delhi.
Our stay at Smyle Inn during our travel into Delhi was uneventful. We arrived at Delhi by a late night flight and had a train out of Delhi early the next morning. The proximity to the railway station, and a nights stay was our primary consideration for choosing Smyle.
It can be a little difficult to find the place ... so note that the Inn is located on Chandni wali gali/alley.
We hadn't booked our return stay in advance, on reaching the Inn while making the booking for the return, I was informed that the actual price of the double room was actually 15% higher, and thus was charged 15% more for our return stay.
Our return to Smyle Inn a week later was an all together different experience. On arriving at 7:00am we were informed that we'd have to pay extra for half the day as check-in is considered only after 8:00. After much argument we were shown to our room on the condition that we speak to Mr Sharma and talk it out with him later in the day. Eventually nothing extra was charged considering 15% was already levied, and the fact that we'd informed Mr. Sharma, when booking, that we'd be reaching early in the morning.
Then ... it started ... there was a mouse in the room ... the family freaked-out ... the room was turned upside down ... and finally with the help of one of the boys we managed to chase it out. We were told that the mouse would have entered through the doors (a/c) vents, which we got sealed with duct tape. Barely did we have the room back in shape that the mouse returned ... and all over again ... the family freaked ... the room was turned upside down, the boys were called and to cut the story short ... after what seemed liked eternity we managed to get the little fellow out. This time I sealed all the crevices along the door with towels and clothes. Since our room was sealed the mouse went into the neighboring room where a European couple was staying ... and their adventure went into the night. We were just tooo glad to have gotten rid of it :) ... Thanks to the mouse we had a disturbed sleep.
Fuel to the situation was our observation that the entrance to 'Chandni wali gali' is used as an open urinal.
Have your expectations right about the place ... its just the right location for a Pahadganj/New Delhi experience, especially with New Delhi railway station at a walk able distance.
For us, our return to Smyle Inn was the deciding factor to this review which for us weighed as a bad experience.
