We stayed in this B&B for 4 nights. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and has always a smile on his face. Our room was basic but cleaned every day. Location is close to the city center. Value for money is very good.
I stayed at Vacahouse for 3 nights while I was in the area to do some hiking. I booked a private room and it came as listed. It was clean, had hot water for showers, and heavy blankets on the bed to keep you warm. The staff was very friendly and spoke both English and Spanish. The location was pretty good as well--close to the Plaza de Armas and restaurants. Some of the local youth would practice group dances at night outside the hostel, but I didn't find it to be too noisy or bothersome. In fact I found it to be one of the cool cultural elements of the town. I would agree with some other posts that the wifi was a bit slow, but it still worked well enough for what I needed it for. Breakfast was simple but good--bread with jam, juice, and fruit. Enough to get me off to a good start to the day and served from 8am-10am. I was very pleased with my experience at Vacahouse and would stay here again.
I reserved a room with a private bathroom, expecting what was described on Booking - internet throughout the hostel, a reasonable room in good repair, and a "fabulous" breakfast. What I got was a room with a curtain covering half of the window, giving me little privacy from those outside, very poor internet - I couldn't even receive and send emails in the room nor outside, a broken toilet seat and breakfast was a bun with jam and tea. I had to prepare my own and wash the dishes.... not what can be expected in B&Bs and for the price I had to pay. I left and found another place - with internet everywhere, a delicious breakfast, and everything in good condition - for less than Vacahouse!
