My boyfriend and I were originally only going to stay at this guesthouse for 2 nights but ended up staying 7! We were far too comfortable there!
We had a ground floor room, and it had all you need - air con, wifi, cable tv, and best of all, the most comfortable bed we had found in our nearly 4 months of travelling across Asia!
The guesthouse owner, Roy, was also the kindest and most helpful host we had met. My foot had become swollen and tender one day and as soon as Roy saw me hobbling across the lobby he insisted on taking me to a doctor! My boyfriend has a bad back and Roy also ensured we had lots of pillows (by the time we left we had 8 pillows between us!)
The breakfasts were very filling and tasty, and Roy recommended some excellent places for dinner!
I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone staying in Panjim, it is ideally located and surrounded by lots of great bars/restaurants/bakeries!

My wife, I, and 2 of our friends had a very memorable stay at the Hospedaria Abrigo de Botelho mid-December 2022.

* Property: is a well-maintained beautiful heritage building with Goan-Portuguese architecture, with tastefully curated & decorated interiors. Loved the wooden staircase, the decorated ceiling, rustic lamps, vintage furniture, double-height ceilings, large doors & windows, thick walls, and beautifully tiled floors.

* Rooms: we were accommodated in 1 premium room and 1 executive room on the upper floor. Both rooms were fresh, clean and spacious. The premium room was even larger. Both rooms had beautiful furniture and fixtures, as well as modern creature comforts. The executive room had a small balcony. Bathrooms were clean, loved the bathroom-vanities, loved the brown-marbled floors in the bathroom.

* Location: Nestled within the beautifully picturesque Fountainhas / Latin Quarters on a peaceful and quiet inner lane. Very short walking distance from the famous local bakeries and eateries.

* Host, service and breakfast: A wonderful and smooth experience right from enquiry till check-out. Roy, the proprietor and our host, was an absolute pleasure to converse with! Roy and our group got to know each other a bit more over breakfast, and conversed about various topics while we enjoyed a wide variety of Indian and Continental food and beverages from the fresh, delicious and plentiful breakfast spread at the in-house cafeteria. I got to try the delicious Goan Banana buns (sweet puris) that had eluded me for all my previous meals at Panjim, and loved the fresh Goan Poee (bread) too. The service team too was very attentive and helpful – spotted us and approached to help find a car parking spot when we arrived, helped carrying our luggage up and down between the rooms and the car, as well as during breakfast service.

* Parking: is available alongside the foot-paths right outside the hotel building. We always found parking quickly for our car even in the peak December season.

Though we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but I feel like we didn’t do justice by staying there just one night – will surely love to visit again if Roy’s able to accommodate us!

It's a home stay with exorbitant charges in a prime locality with many key locations nearby .The premium room though big in size lacked the basic aesthetics Eg-Lighting was very dim with misplaced fittings. Breakfast was a major disappointment, most of the items didnt taste fresh.Roy was a good host and offered helpful tips.Mode of Payment was a huge hassle in the current demonetization scenario since we were told debit/credit cards wont be accepted and full payment had to be only in cash or online transfer into his bank account which didnt go through. We had to run helter-skelter and spend our vacation time standing in ATM queues to withdraw the cash, ultimately we had to cut our stay short and move into a different place in the same lane.

I booked this hotel online.nd was looking for our stay in this heritage property.panjim is nearly 35 kms from airport.
This property is located in Fontainehas, a Latin area of the panjim. All the properties in this area are well maintained nd owned by pourtgese once upon a time.lanes are not so wide but very clean.a peaceful are.the building is nearly 150 years old. Owner Mr. Roy converted it in to guest house.it is well maintained guest house.I stayed in room no. 3 on ground floor. It was a big room with antique furniture. A king size bed of old Era, fridge, dressing table, ac, tea maker etc. Bathroom was big with shower area. A small sitting are with rocking chair and a table.evry day we had our morning T there.house keeping service was up to the mark.used hand nd bath towels were changed daily.bed was made every day by their staff. They have rooms on first floor also. They r bigger with a balcony.
But staircase is pretty difficult for senior citizens. So we preferred ground floor . our bfast was included.good buffet breakfast served in the dinning room.no regular restaurant is there. As it is B&B guest house.
Location wise also best.all major area such as mandovi river, panjim city church, 18th june rd(main market) patto Plaza etc. at 3-4 walk.
About the owner Mrs.Nd Mr . Roy,a very caring couple.at the time of the bfast they look after everything personlly.Mr.Roy not only guided me about the places to visit around, very morning he arranged a cab nd gave him instructions nd list of the places to be visited.a very very affectionate nd Co operative couple.
I will rate this hotel highly.A home away home.I really enjoyed my stay in this guest house.nd will certainly stay here if I visit panji again.
