The Comfort Inn on Delmar Avenue is well located for access to Austin. I-35 is adjacent to the motel and takes you south into the city's highlights - Capitol Building, LBJ Library, and to 6th Street (the heart of Austin nightlife). If I-35 is too congested (it frequently is), the motel is a short distance from Lamar, which will also takes you into the city and past the original Threadgill's, a famous Austin restaurant. The accommodation was quite good for us over Labor Day weekend 2018. The bed was very comfortable, the room clean, and the indoor pool well maintained with a relaxing water temperature.
The breakfast was uneven - over three days, on some days there was a good selection including fresh fruit, but on other days the "hot" food (scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles) wasn't always so hot and there was no fresh fruit. Cereal options were mainly all sugar soaked.
I have stayed at this motel several times over many years and it did seem a bit better run this time than in some prior visits.
Hotel located next to freeway so there is some road noise, But that was the only noises I heard. Although we did have a King suite and there was no extra pillows or a blanket for the couch bed so had to request those from the front desk. The rooms were very clean, We had kids with us and did not know that there was only a shower and no tub so a little harder to bath the kids. The breakfast was good and the kids enjoyed the indoor pool.
We almost always stay at a choice hotel because we believe in the quality. This hotel was nice. The elevator had a musty smell and the pool area could use updating but it was a good stay. My girls always enjoy staying in a hotel no matter where we are.
The hotel was very close to the event I was having. Very clean and great staff in the front desk. The hotel has an indoor pool which was great for my kids. Good breakfast as well. Definitely had a nice stay.
I made a reservation through hotels.com and for the first time I was very disappointed There were roaches in the room, the pool was not working due to ventilation, and the hotel charged my card $100 deposit that I did not authorize and it took 12 days to have the money released back into my available bank balance I called the hotel and hotels.com trying to get my money released to no avail. I will not be doing business with either business in the future
