We stayed here for 2 nights and had a comfortable stay. The hotel lobby and reception are lovely which I think made our room appear quite dated and plain. The size and facilities were fine but the shelving and furniture in the room were quite tatty and it was a shame as with some refurbishment I'm sure they would look amazing. Breakfast was great with a good choice of Western and Chinese. Overall a comfortable stay.
We only stayed a night here and arrived late in the evening but did experience breakfast before leaving for our tour to the Terracotta Warrior Museum.
The hotel was about 15 mins walk back to the illuminated Wall and Towers which were rather stunning at night. It also felt safe to walk at night (nearly midnight but the time we arrived).
The hotel was rather opulent and reasonably modern as seen by the design of the reception and dining areas. There was also a pair of rather stunning life-sized fork and spoon Warrior-like sculptures at the entrance to the restaurant to remind you of the main purpose of our stay!
The design of our room was rather unusual - we had never had a room layout like this not even being well seasoned global travelers, but we did experience a similar design in another Chinese hotel we stayed at later also.
As you will see from our photos, the bathroom sink is actually in the main room, and becomes the surface and sink for your kettle and coffee/tea facilities. The toilet had its own separate room, as did the shower, both coming off the area where the sink was.
Wifi was available in the room. As for the tv, from memory I don't think there were any English speaking channels in Xi'an?
Breakfast was a smorgasbord style as usual in all the hotels we stayed at in China. There was an abundant choice, even for myself trying to be as vegan as possible whilst traveling.
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel, room 723. The room was dark and the furniture shabby. Firstly, the safe was not working; the front desk staff speak very little English and it took some time to get them to change the battery. My husband and I tried five times calling the front desk to ask for an extra blanket and finally found it was easier to sleep with extra sweaters and woollen socks; the airconditioning temperature is fixed and cannot be adjusted. The next morning it was raining and we had to pay a deposit to borrow a hotel umbrella - our first experience receiving such `hospitality' as a hotel guest!!
We arrived late at night and had an early start so our stay was relatively short. The room was very well appointed and had all the usual facilities. The shower and toilet both have glass doors with top openings which offer little privacy; however, both were spotless! Breakfast was very busy but offered a very good choice to satisfy most tastes. We stayed in a superior room which in its heyday would have been super, sadly the room and the hotel were both slightly dated! The hotel is well located to the centre of the city within the walls.
Good breakfast and comfy beds. WIFI worked a bit. Near shops. The only complaint was that the washbasin was almost in the bedroom. so if someone used the basin during the night it would disturb others sleeping in the room. It was the only fault with the room. Everything was very clean.
