We stayed here between July 30 and August 1, 2018. It is a quiet and homely hotel just off Nevsky Prospekt. Alexei and the other staff members were very friendly and efficient. They really made us feel at home and served a great breakfast. The room was cosy with a nice little balcony overlooking a park. Getting on to Nevsky Prospekt was a breeze yet the hotel was away from all the hubbub. Highly recommended for budget travellers.
This hotel has an excellent location close to Nevsky prospect and the metro. There is no lift so we requested a low floor. A buffet breakfast is included. The staff were friendly and helpful. You can acces the hotel 24 hours a day by day by ringing the bell outside.
The hotel was very quiet.
The hotel arranged a taxi for us on arrival which worked well for us. We arrived late evening so it was nice and easy.
The room was small and comfortable but in need of updating. Wifi worked well in the room. Small tv. Shower only bathroom. The whole place was nice and clean. Water was supplied in the corridor as the tap water is not drinkable,
I would recommend the hotel. It is within walking distance of a lot of sights.
I loved St Petersburg and would like to return. We were there for the World Cup and it had a really good atmosphere.
Stayed at the Vesta Hotel for 4 nights in June whilst attending the World Cup and prior to climbing Mt Elbrus in the Caucasus mountains. Had a great stay at Vesta as the location is perfect, we were able to walk pretty much everywhere from the hotel and the staff were super helpful with any requests/questions and spoke clear English. The room is a standard room, nothing amazing but the bed and bathroom were comfortable for the price. Will 100% be staying here again when returning to St Petersburg 😊
First of all, the location of this hotel is excellent. Found just off Nevsky Prospekt in a quiet residential area, Vesta Hotel isn’t like your usual city hotel but still delivers and reliably restful stay in Saint Petersburg.
The rooms are very bog-standard and have no real modern elements to them. The beds are comfy despite being very thin and basic. The hotel encourages you not to shower for more than fifteen minutes as the boilers - which is these greet, big cylinders in the shower room - only hold capacity for that much hot water at a time. There is also no safe in the room, therefore, you have to rent out a safe just in the lobby.
There is no elevator in the hotel so it’s a case of walking up each flight of stairs to your room. Walking through the corridors can sound like stomping as the noise echoes and it’s easy to hear people outside if you’re in your bedroom, but otherwise the hotel is generally quiet.
The price is very reasonable and reflects the quality of the premises.
We stayed here for 7 nights in total and really enjoyed our time. It is a very affordable hotel, with a buffet breakfast included each morning. Whilst the breakfast is the same each morning, it is always tasty and fresh (so we never got bored of it!).
The rooms are basic in terms of how they look, but are very clean and warm, with large windows that allow in a lot of natural light and also mean you can get fresh air in to the room. The beds are comfy and slippers are provided. The bathrooms are clean too and soap/towels are supplied each day. The room had a microwave, fridge, kettle and heating/air conditioning too. There is a small TV in the room with a few channels (one news channel in English) and free Wi-Fi.
The hotel has a homely feel - as it is fairly small the staff and other people staying there always say hello to each other. The staff are happy to help you book tours/museums/trips too. There is no lift at the hotel, so if you have difficultly with steps (there are a maximum of 4 floors in total - with 8 flights of stairs in total) just let the staff know beforehand and they can put you in a lower down room.
Finally, the location is great. It is only a 10 minute walk away from the main train station in St Petersburg (which was perfect for us when we got the train to Moscow), and the nearest tube station is only a 5 minute walk away. Most the major sights in St Petersburg are easy to walk to from this hotel (Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood is about a 20-25 minute walk away) and the hotel sits just behind the main street in St Petersburg which is packed with tourists (yet the hotel avoids all this by being in a quiet square just behind).
Overall, we were very happy with our stay here and would really recommend this to someone who is looking for affordable, nice accommodation.
