If you ever choose Side as your holiday destination and you see this hotel on your list of options, it wouldn’t be the worse choice you can make. Honestly, we were meant to stay at the Joker Suite Hotel (AVOID AT ALL COSTS) and although at the time I was annoyed about our treatment so far, after hours on the phone to my holiday provider they put us with this hotel.

It is a little of the beaten track to it’s location and the food a little basic at the hotel but our room was clean, our possessions safe, the staff treated us like family from the beginning and couldn’t do more for us. When you’re on the main road, you’ve got great bars and restaurants around, if you want to order takeaway, the hotel will also order your food and have it delivered to you.

If you ever get to meet Arslan and his staff, know you’ll be well looked after. If we ever go back to Turkey, we would go back to here 100%

We had looked on the reviews for this place & as it was last minute took a chance. Wish we hadn’t !
The room was cleaned once & that was because we requested it. The food was repetitive hot food wasn’t kept warm by the time you got to it it was cold. The drinks were minimal. Gin red wine & beer. I requested white wine & managed to get a glass on the last night.
We asked about our transfers from 2 days before. Several requests later we still didn’t know. Half an hour before the transfer arrived we were told.
The staff speak very little English it was hard work trying to make them understand us
Even if you’re desperate for a holiday don’t go here!

Myself and husband are just back from the Papirus Hotel, we stayed there for 10 nights, and didnt want to come home. Our room 105 was absolutley gorgeous, fridge freezer, big tv, air conditioning in living room and bedroom. We had emailed before arrival to ask for a ground floor room as there is no lift at this hotel. This is a small family run hotel, and they were absolutley magnificent, they could not do enough for us. Chef made amazing chicken curry, and special fried eggs every morning for breakie. Fresh fruit (figs, pomegrante, grapes) grow in the garden, and are picked for you at breakfast and lunchtime. They did run out of beer for a few hours, and had no wine, but after asking for these, they went out and got them in. The staff Arslan, Tivik, and the rest of the family were really friendly and helpful, anything we needed or asked for we were given. Hairdryers are not in rooms, but they have around 4-5 at reception to use. Rooms are cleaned on request, and pool and room towels are available at reception also. The hotel is close to shops, bars and restuarants, there is also a free shuttle bus to the beach, but no all inclusive at the beach, you have to pay for your drinks etc.
This is a small hotel run by a beautiful family who bend over backwards to please you. If theres something you want that they do not have, ie toaster lol they go out of their way to get it for you. It ticks all the boxes, and the welcome you get is second to none. Lovely place to chill and relax, no entertainment at night, but we made our own, and the staff sat and spent time with us. If your looking for a quiet, chilling, turkish style family place to stay the Papirus is the place to be. Arslan, Tifick and the rest of the gang we will see you all next year.

Me and my family arrived at the Papirus in the early hours. Got told our rooms weren’t ready. Had to be taken down the road to somewhere else which was AWFUL. Someone picked us up in the morning but still couldn’t check in until 3pm. A full day wasted. The manager, we felt, couldn’t really care. We asked and asked when would our room be ready. On the whole the room was ok.
My sons room was ok but in the fridge someone had left an ice cream and it was smelly and mouldy. We told the manager about this again and again. Finally it got moved only because my son actually brought the whole thing down and showed it him in front of everybody and he replaced it but this was on the last day.
The food left something to be desired. Often warm ups and the same thing all the time.
Butter packets left out for long periods of time and I had one and it tasted off.
They ran out of wine, vodka and Fanta.
There only seemed to be around 7 workers there and they were very friendly apart from the manager.
We spent most of the time at the beach and eating out.
The pool was warm and I often saw head hairs in it.
I will not be returning.

Just returned from a holiday at papirus.
When the holiday was booked we were told it was a beach hotel , smoke free, coffee shop , roof terrace,
Room service, all inclusive,
Once we arrived early hours to a back street hotel & asked if we were in the right place , we were told there was no beach but a free bus that will take us there.
We were shown to our room on the 3rd floor , no lift so we had to cart a buggy up three flights or stairs for 2 weeks of our holiday.
We were a family of 3 adults, 1 child & a 4month baby . We were given a double bed & a sofa bed. Once booking we were told we’d have a family room with kitchenette . We had a fridge with a tv on top! Not ideal with a new baby .
On several occasions there was no water .
All inclusive drinks on offer was cola, Fanta, beer & vodka, which a member of staff had been watering down then later sacked!!
The maid never cleaned our room, we had to request sheets, towels, toilet roll etc!
We ate out most days as the food was nothing like advertised.
Pool area was always clean & maintained, staff were friendly but some times over powering.
The toilet used by staff & residents smelt awful , was never cleaned.
Staff constantly walked around smoking cigarettes & sleeping in any area they could at any time, eg, out side reception in their car, on the swing seat in the garden,
There were roughly 7 members of staff that worked 24 hours a day .
No one spoke english except the area manager who was there with his girlfriend that helped to translate for the hotel, area manager followed her around like a love sick puppy, accusing married men of chatting her up ( she was the only person that spoke fluent English so lots of people spoke to her) it was embarrassing .
We did not let this spoil our holiday as we had an Amazing time ate out in some amazing places near by. The old town was beautiful ,
Our favourite member of staff was tevfik , couldn’t speak English but was always very pleasant & helpful.
This hotel is not as advertised , wouldn’t go back again but would go back to side , as it was a pretty place & lots to do
