I was in a dire need of a good secluded escape after facing months of staying home due to the pandemic. I was emotionally burnout and lethargic with my work, so I then decided to book a 3 nights stay at Tejaprana Bisma.
I've been eyeing this hotel for quite some time actually. Who would've known, I came at the most unfortunate time, where most people refrained from taking holiday just to be safe and healthy. For the record, if the pandemic isn't over by the time you read this, I endorsed you to stay at home.
When talking about luxury in hospitality industry, usually it rhymes with big names of certain hotel chains. Often depicted for having a serene atmosohere, gorgeous design, scenic pool, and top notch personalized service. I am hapoy to say that you'll find those here at Tejaprana Bisma.
Let's get into details....
Tejaprana Bisma located at the end of Bisma Street.
To get to Bisma Street, you'll need to pass Monkey Forest Rd, take the left turn onto Ubud Raya St. Then take a left turn onto a bit steep street. The road to Tejaprana Bisma a bit rocky and uneven width. But fits for two cars. Along the Bisma St, you'll find various shops, restaurants and cafe. Unfortunately, when I stayed here, most of them were closed. By the time you reached the end of the street, turn right, look for Tejaprana Bisma signage. I don't think, you'll miss this. Monkey Forest Rd can be reached within minutes from Tejaprana Bisma. There's a shortcut by pass, around 200 metres from the property. Cars can't pass this shortcut, but motorcycles can.
In conclusion: Tejaprana Bisma is well hidden. You'll get a nice and calm atmosphere yet close enough to find some bustling atmosphere.
It's big! You'll find an oversize King bed with 4 fluffy pillows, a wooden bench, a dining table, and a 43 inch TV.
A walk in wardrobe, toilet, His and Her sinks, outdoor bathtub, rain shower and ...jet bidet shower with hose on its toilet (I don't like the one with built-in bidet, hard to control and sometimes the stream not too strong enough to clean 😜)
Each room is equipped with a plunge pool with 1.4 metre / 4.5 ft depth.
There are several types of Villas: Villa with garden view (your POV will be blocked by a wall, since it is facing to the street), Villa with rice paddy field view (overlook to a vast rice paddy field), Villa with terrace view (overlook to other villa roof) and the last is Villa with valley view (overlook to a gorge and in distant rice paddy field across the gorge).
I chose Villa with valley view. There are 6 villas of this type. It offers more secluded privacy compared to others. Since it offers more privacy, it is located the furthest from lobby. But, worry not. Tejaprana Bisma landscape is well designed. So a bit of stroll to the Villa with valley view will be enjoyable. Although, for those who came with elderly and small children, this hotel might not be suitable. There are stairs everywhere. So, be careful.
For me, an excellent customer service, makes all the difference. And I have to say, Tejaprana Bisma crews exceeds my expectations. From a printed personal note from resort manager welcoming you by the time you entered your villa to your presence being acknowledged by every staff members. By acknowledged, I mean, they know your name and greet you by your name. Not many hotel did this small act of gesture. Every staffs were very courteous yet not pretentious. There's a difference between forced attention / care and genuinity. Every staff seemed willing to go the distance to meet their guest's need.
I would like to thank you to Tejaprana Bisma staffs for making my stay worthwhile. I'm feeling refreshed after staying here. I rarely go back to the same hotel that I went to. But, I will surely be back soon.
