Lake Pichola hotel was an enchanting stay to summarize it in one line.

I stayed here for a good 4 nights and though my pockets emptied a bit than expected... it was worth it!!
Right from the enquiry call I made when I got down at Udaipur to all throughout my stay, the front office staff - Mr. Raj Tilak, Mr. Kamal Singh, Mr. Surender Singh, Mr. Mukesh and especially Mr. Manohar Singh were very helpful with whatever assistance I required. Really appreciate that.

The rooms are very spacious and well done up and the views are awesome to say the least.
An evening dinner from their roof-top restaurant is highly recommended.. Enchanting!
The only thing I felt lacking was the pool. Would have appreciated a bigger better pool. Hopefully they can make place for a bigger pool in future..
A place I'd surely like to visit again and recommend too!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms were basic with linen pretty average. Balcony does overlook lake with nice views. Food at roof top restaurant is nothing special and swimming pool is walled off from surrounding sunbathing area! You have to climb a short ladder to climb over to get into the pool!! Night sleep is disturbed by barking street dogs and approach is very narrow street. Staff are friendly and afternoon tea at verandah overlooking tbe lake is a bliss.

Dear Guests, We thank you for your review about our hotel. It is nice of you to appreciate our view from the rooms as well as the veranda. We shall surely call up the municipality staff to take up your suggestion of catching these stray dogs who were a disturbence in your sleep. Also please be rest assured we shall take up the matter with our housekeeping department who did not check your room linen properly. With best wishes,

I would not pay full price for this hotel. Though the hotel has a faded charm, it was erring towards shabby. The balcony views are lovely though. The service during the day at the rooftop restaurant was extremely slow (as was the room service). We checked in mainly for the pool and this was dirty. By the time someone came to clean it, it had got too cold to swim.

Lake Pichola Hotel is a charming hotel with beautiful, well-maintained grounds and rooms. The hotel’s winning quality is its prime lakefront location which affords views right across Lake Pichola from its lake-facing rooms. However, the road leading to the main entrance of the hotel is impossibly narrow and busy and our driver had trouble driving through several times. On the first day, we had arrived rather late in the evening after a long journey from Ranthambore. After spending a long time negotiating the narrow and congested road, we still wound up stuck about 50m to the hotel entrance, so we had to drag our suitcases to the hotel on our own. This is not such a big deal but we thought the hotel could be more alert in looking out for guests especially since we had a prior booking so they must be expecting us. And then, not realising we were already at the check-in counter, the wait staff went on a wild goose chase with our welcome drinks and garlands. I definitely think the hotel can improve its finesse in this aspect and perhaps earn that extra star. Another disappointment we encountered was the closure of the pool for upgrades. In addition to the lakefront location, the rooftop pool was the other key feature of the hotel and I was disappointed that this wasn’t made known to potential guests at the point of booking. The viewing balcony also did not have chairs and umbrellas laid out beautifully as shown in the photos. I understand it may be off season and the best opportunity for maintenance works but I feel guests’ experience should not be compromised. Other than these, we had a lovely stay and found the staff warm and helpful. If I ever get to visit Udaipur again, I would love to check this place out again and hopefully be able to appreciate all its amenities next time.

The lakeside rooms are highly recommended, boasting beautiful views of Lake Pichola. The interior is also charming, with traditional Indian decor and features. Unfortunately, the pool was a let down (looks a lot nicer in the website photos), but there is lots to do in the surrounding area to keep you preoccupied.
