Hotel: Hotel is located in old city area, roads are very narrow and hotel has limited parking space so may not be a ideal hotel to stay if you are taking own/rented car. Hotel is on banks of Lake Pichola and provides very beautiful view of the lake, you will definitely enjoy the view from lobby. Tourist places such as City Palace, Jagadish temple, Bagore Ki Haveli are at 10-15 mins walkable distance or you can take auto which are available from hotel entrance.

Room: We had booked standard non lake facing room, Room and Bathroom were neat and clean

Food: Hotel is quite popular with foreign tourist so morning breakfast had limited Indian menu (Poori-sabji/Chole), there is live instrument play which was very soothing. Hotel has roof top restaurant named "Upre" its worth place to have dinner with fantastic view of ghat and lake. Overall food taste was good, a bit expensive but you will enjoy ambience

Shopping: Visit Hathi pol bazaar to purchase dress/show piece items, there are lot of shops which would make you overspend :)

Note: Don't rely on Ola/Uber as they refuse pick/drop to hotel due to narrow roads.

My husband & I stayed at Lake Pichola Hotel for 4 nights. We had initially booked the room for 3 nights, but we decided to extend our stay after the 2nd day as we really liked our room and Udaipur. We booked a double deluxe room (had a balcony & was facing the lake). The hotel allowed us to have an early check in. We arrived 7.30am, and we were given our room immediately upon arrival. That gesture was much appreciated as we had been traveling by train through the night. Our room was spacious, and the view was really good. It was wonderful to sit out at the balcony and just enjoy the view around us. The hotel has an excellent interior deco with Rajasthani elements & paintings that will not disappoint you.The food was also very good. We enjoyed the chicken chow mein, mutton briyani, Lal Maas & aloo paratha. The hotel is strategically located. It is a short walk to the bazaar and Bagore Ki Haveli (about 10 mins). You can also walk to the City Palace (about 20 - 25 minutes). Or you can walk to the Jagdish temple & get an auto to the palace / other places. Autos are generally a lot more pricier in Udaipur compared to the rest of Rajasthan. In my opinion, the room rate was quite reasonable for the type of room, view & services provided (wifi available).

This was our second time in Udaipur & our first stay at the Lake Pichola Hotel. Its safe to say we will be staying again whenever we next venture to the city of lakes. Our suite stay offorded us two private viewing balconies, each with a 180 degree view of the stunning lake Pichola.

There was a wide variety of breakfast items to choose from & the dishes were changed each morning. I would highly recomment taking your plate outside to eat on the ground floor balcony alongside the lake for maximum serenity!

Restaurnant Upré not only offers stunning day/night time views but also one of the better dining experiences in the city.

My recipee for a memorable stay = Enjoy a long hot shower, wrap up in one of the hotel supplied robes for extra comfort & spend half the day in your balcony, soaking up the view of the lake while you recharge your batteries!

Thankyou Mr Yudhistir Singh for the best hotel stay in my 2 years of living in India!

Regards,
Aaron D.

Spent 4 nights in this hotel. Booked first floor lake view room. We could see the Udaipur Palace, Bathing Ghats, Jagadish Temple, Bagore ki Haveli on the opposite bank of Lake Pichola from the hotel room itself. Dawn is amazing in the lake. The room had a hanging balcony, right over the lake. We spent hours sitting in the balcony , witnessing the morning beauty of the lake and the activities at the bathing ghats .
The hotel is having a roof top restaurant from where you can see the well illuminated Palace and other parts of the Udaipur city in the night.
'Value for money' in true sense.

The room I booked was a lake view room.....they charged me a whopping amount ....and the condition of the room was not good.....the rooms are age old....they have tried to give them a new look but have failed miserably. The staff was OK....but nothing majorly extraordinary about them...
The lake view was not that captivating....the terrace garden restaurant is ok...but the food is very okayish.

There is no parking for cars....you will have to take an auto to go to nearest taxi station....or walk....the surroundings of lake pichola doesnot have a very safe vibe to them....

I would suggest anybody to book hotel lakend which is way way better in every respect than any other hotel in udaipur.....large parking....amazing food....super amazing rooms....and what a view of fatehsagar lake.

I'd suggest try Agoda or similar to get an idea if availability, room choice, costs. Then look into Trio Advisor for peoples experiences, value, facilities, etc.
