I always enjoyed the comfort of 4- and 5- star hotels but disliked the plastic smiles of staff. The experience at Mandir palace was in contrast a very pleasant one plus the comfort. Hemant and his team took care of me and went to a great length at arranging my local commute within the Jaisalmer city, arranged visit to the sand dunes, provided insights into what to buy and what not to buy, how much to pay for stuff without getting cheated, and more importantly they arranged and parceled breakfast for me as I was checking-out early morning at 6 am so I can have it on the way back, and the breakfast had freshly made sandwiches and paranthas, and fruits. This was something I could never expect from most of the hotels in India. Moreover, the quality of room was excellent, everything was working and squeaky clean, I did not have any complaints whatsoever. The candle-light dinner on rooftop is a must as you get a nice view of the orange-lit Jaisalmer Fort from a distance and the palace. Luckily the night I had my dinner there, the weather was very windy and pleasant. I also got a quick walk-around of the palace by Hemant with information about the royal family and the property. It will definitely be a memorable part of the stay there. All in all, I think it was the best stay in Rajasthan so far among all my previous travels in the state. I absolutely recommend this place. The only thing I missed there was a wide variety of snacks and drinks in the room so I did not have to go out to get them.
Nicely located but they provide parking across the road inside Mandir Palace hotel which also belongs to same group. Room services are available only on request but may take time since they use kitchen of Mandir Palace. Only tea is available at this place. Very clean hotel and staff behaviour is appreciable. They offer breakfast and measls at Mandir palace which is very beautiful and large palace hotel with two museums inside, excellent meals all type at roof top resturant especially non-vege is most delicious.
Hotel is very good for stay , location is very good and easy to find hotel staff is supporting also .It has neat & clean bathrooms and has awesome interior looks traditional. . . . Room service is also excellent
I have booked this hotel online in end of December, the rooms are average, easy to find the hotel, but too dim light in the room ,there is no tubelight in the room, TV remote not working, fan is consistantly making noise.
To begin with, the rooms are decent and clean. The bathroom was not very clean there are challenges in Hot Water flow.
There is no room service whatsoever. They do have a menu card to order but that is of a different hotel owned by Welcome Group and the charges are exhorbitant. Strange that a budget hotel charges for food from a delux hotel, i somehow did not understand this arrangement.
If your package has breakfast included, then remember that u wont get it in this hotel, you would need to walk a distance at least 500m to Mandir Palace hotel where the breakfast is layed out in 2 seperate areas- 1 for Kalyan Bhawan and the other for the guest of mandir palace. This is really strange and demeaning as guests. Stay away if poosible.
