We loved our 10 night stay at Paradise back in February and cannot thank the owners and the staff enough for everything they did for us, they are such an amazing and dedicated crew.

The food was excellent and provided a good variety and we loved the Fijian night with the food cooked in the traditional Lava, it was delicious. The entertainment was great as was the kava tasting, a fun night.

Our family of 3 stayed in a 2 bedroom garden bure, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a lovely pool. The resort is really well kept, clean and sanitized.

The diving was outstanding, both at Vuna & Rainbow reef. We were lucky to experience false killer whales surrounding our boat, and we all go to swim with them, an amazing experience. The reefs are simply stunning and in excellent condition. The house reef is also great and provided great diving experiences.
A special thanks to Helen for showing me your beautiful house reef.
Definitely a place worth returning to.
Thanks again to everyone for making this a memorable holiday.

In short: Paradise Taveuni is a fantastic place to visit to see the natural wonders of Fiji, eat delicious food, make friends and laugh with the very kind/attentive staff, and dive some of the most unique and beautiful reefs in the world. The resort was recently rebuilt, so the Oceanfront Bures you stay in are downright magical. Truly something for everyone: from the adventurer who wants to scuba dive with reef sharks and hike in jungles, to those looking for lazy days of fruity drinks, massages and relaxation in the pool (while watching insane sunsets over the ocean.) You won't be disappointed in Paradise. We never wanted to leave.

COVID: The owners and staff are very on-top of COVID safety-- the staff is fully vaccinated and guests are Rapid Antigen tested (per the Fijian Health Ministry's rules) after 48 hours of arrival. Everything is very clean and sanitized, and they even worked out our COVID tests for us at a local hospital (to meet US re-entry rules) on the way to the airport when we left. Rest assured, you can travel safe with this team :)

More detailed info: Paradise Taveuni was a wonderful surprise. We had planned a dive trip to celebrate our anniversary in Indonesia, but with Covid, the borders weren't yet open to US citizens. PADI recommended Paradise to us, and raved about their 5-star dive shop.

The owners Allan & Terri have created a picturesque paradise on the coast of The Garden Island. They get to know you, and help create exactly the vacation you are looking for. Allan went out of his way to make sure we were able to dive The White Wall at the perfect time, and we even got to dive with manta rays (our dream!) Terri was also able to work out a day trip to the natural rock waterslides for us one day.

The resort does a great job of creating a sense of community, We made friends with other guests and the staff. There were themed nights under the stars and a Fijian night with dancing and a Kava Ceremony. The Ceremony had us enjoying the the tradition of drinking Kava side-by-side with the local staff and even the local Chief (an honor!)

Our package included a 30 minute massage, which was wonderful and done alongside the ocean, to the sound of the waves. --insert relaxed sigh--

We also had 2-3 boat dives a day, which took us to the world-famous Rainbow Reef, a truly massive, colorful marvel of undersea life. We rented our gear from Paradise's dive shop-- it was all in good shape and the dive team were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Allan is a chef, so the food at Paradise is top-notch. Each day there is a selection of local fresh-caught seafood of the day, a variety curries, some Italian dishes, grilled meats, and of course lots of fresh tropical fruits and local Fijian fare. The resort is committed to operating in a sustainable manner that respects the land and it's resources, so you order your next meal ahead of time (you order your lunch at breakfast, and your dinner at lunch.) This keeps from wasting food on the island -- a huge problem many resorts are guilty of. We were thrilled to see Paradise's commitment to making only the freshest meals and not creating waste.

The drink menu is also top-notch (Try the Fiji Time!) They have a full bar, beer and wine, as well as tropical drinks made with local fruits.

And again, we can't stop raving about how kind and wonderful the staff was. The kindest people -- and they all knew our names from day one. So in kind, I wanted to mention their names as well. At the resort Flo, Becky, Navi, Nia, Liti, and Soni all went above and beyond-- we already miss them all! :)

The dive team was wonderfully helpful, knowledgeable, and hilarious. Big thanks to our captains Sean & Kim, as well as the rest of the dive team Salote, Sonny, Christine, & Oscar. And extra thanks to Daniel, our driver, who went down the natural waterslides with us, and even showed us where to avoid the sharper rocks! haha

Basically, don't hesitate. Go to Paradise. And... take me with you? haha

After spending countless hours researching on the internet for a location in Fiji to get married and honeymoon at we decided on Paradise Taveuni. After arriving at the resort it only took a minute or two to realise we had struck gold. Paradise Taveuni is everything that we had hoped for and much much more.
The grounds of the resort are immaculate, the food is absolutely delicious and the bures are beautiful but what makes this place perfect is the fantastic staff. Everyone from the grounds people to the management are 100% warm and friendly. Everywhere you go you are greeted with a warm "Bula" and a huge smile.
A nice touch is where you can choose the location to have your lunch or dinner eg on the Jetty, by the pool, in the wedding Bure etc so this makes it an ideal romantic getaway location for couples.
The resort also has a Fijian night which is a must to experience. Food is cooked on the Lovo and the night includes dance and singing performances from the local villagers and you get to participate in a kava ceremony.
The restaurant has a board that lists all the activities for the day so you can plan your day or just laze around the grounds in one of the hammocks or on a sunbed by the pool.
Some of the daily activities include half or full day tours to the local waterfalls, rainforests and villages, coconut lessons, basket weaving, learn to speak Fijian and wood carving.
The resort has its own dive shop which takes daily diving trips to some of the local dive spots and all resort guests have unlimited use of snorkling gear which you can use right off the resort waterfront. The water is crystal clear and a there is amazing fish and coral life right at the waters edge.
If you are looking for that perfect wedding location then this is it. The staff took care of every detail for us and turned the wedding location we chose into a magical and romantic spot using flowers and fauna from around the resort gardens.
The wedding package we chose included 2 local flower girls, 4 Fijian warriors and Fijian serenaders who helped to make our special day perfect.
We fell in love with Paradise and all the staff and can not wait to return soon.

We were there 8 days, so this will be a little long. First, "my likes". The resort is small, easy to navigate, and mostly user friendly. The burres are wonderful and you will not need anything. They provide for you very well. I had trouble with the shower temp, but my husband didn't so it was clearly operator error.
The people - I can say without question, the people of Taveuni are the nicest I have ever met. We met some amazing travelers as well and enjoyed diving and dining with them.
Which brings me to my next "like" - the food. I have ZERO complaints. The food was wonderful and I felt I had a good variety to choose from every day.
The massage was wonderful and is in a hut overlooking the ocean - the only downside was the clanking of the guy working on his sailboat and the kids screaming in the pool.
The dive shop - first rate in every way. The dive masters are incredible and are there for not only your safety, but for your enjoyment as well. The staff take care of your every need. I don't think they sleep. They are up before getting all of your gear ready on the boat, they stay after helping to analyze nitrox for next day, take your gear off the boat, rinise it, and return it for the next day. Underwater, they are just as impressive.

"My dislikes" I like to run/workout everyday and there is no where to do so. I did go running long the dirt road, but it rained the first four days and the road was to dangerous for me. If you are a "mudder" you will love it. That said, the run was beautiful the one day I did get to go.
It is 45-60 minutes away from the airport and at least 30 minutes to anywhere else - so just know that if you choose to do anything off property, it will cost you at leave 50 Fijian ($25 US) to go anywhere.
The way they do meals - you preorder in the am for your lunch and dinner which is fine, but it leaves ALOT of room for error. We had people get overlooked, we had a three course meal take over 90 minutes, and we had one person finish their three course meal while another had eaten nothing. So, there is marked room for improvement.
The only negative about the dive shop is after your last dive, rather than returning your gear to the boat, they hang it up in the shop to dry. However, it isn't all together and is spread out all over the place. So make sure you take a check list of what you left on the boat or else you run the chance of leaving something behind.
The bar closes at 9:00 which did not work for our group. If it doesn't work for your group, have your driver stop at the bottle shop in town on the way from the airport to the resort and pick up your own provisions.

I highly recommend Paradise - you will not be disapointed.

Bula and thanks so much for staying with us and taking the time to write this great review! We are delighted to hear that you loved the food, the diving, your room and your massages in our Oceanfront Spa. Since your stay, we have a new Dive Shop Manager - Maikeli - who is aware of the previous issues that you commented on and he is working together with our Dive Team to perfect the service in the dive shop. We have had a training session with our F&B Team in regards to your food comments and I am sorry to hear that we closed the bar early on your and your group. Our Resort standard is that we keep the bar open until our Guests are finished drinking. We have discussed your comments to our Food & Beverage Manager. We appreciate your feedback as this helps us to improve our Paradise. We do hope to see you and the group back in Paradise again. Vinaka from the Paradise Team.

Travel form main Island Airport (Nadi) in a small plane and skim the water so your wife is having kittens. -Land on a Good strip at Taveuni - a 1hr 4 wheel drive through deep vegetation - Arrive in PARADISE Taveuni where you are greeted by the famous Fijian smile 'Bula' then each night you mix and relax more and more. We simply needed to nothing but lay around however s this Island is for 'Deep' Divers and we do not Dive we were very happy to tag along with the 'Snorkel' instructor and what a GREAT experience, wonderful Coral and warm water. We kicked ourselves that we did not grab this earlier - By the way the Spa massage in open bure' looking over the ocean is the most relaxing way to spend the afternoon before you lay by the pool. There are only 18 or so Free Standing Bure' with a total of 38? guests so quiet and relaxing - You all meet for predinner drinkies and then off to your own table 'Silver Service' under your own private Palm tree for a Great meal and just lookout to the setting sun over the ocean. It is the MOST Romantic and Relaxing holiday you can wish for. Regards Garry
