Nearly everything was perfect! We loved the whole staff - so friendly, helpful and patient!
When we arrived we were given a double room with twin beds, but we've booked a room for 3. So they showed us our room to decide if we needed an extra bed at extra charge (we checked our reservation and indeed that was mentioned in the booking, we just didnt read carefully). To our surprise the twin beds were quite large, so was our room. So we asked if it's possible to put the beds together, because we already paid for the stay and the beds would be big enough to fit 3 girls. And yet one phonecall and 2 minutes later housekeeping was here, removed the bedside table in between and pushed the beds together. Wow no problem at all! They also gave us an extra sheet, towel and bathrobe!
After first time showering we noticed that there was no hot water. It was fixed very quick!
Everything else was clean and in best condition. Breakfast and food in the restaurant was excellent too! And prices not much overcharged - compared to tourist prices in general in Siem reap. So be aware it's not gonna be cheap at all. E. g. 1,5h drive with private car and driver to jungle temple Beng Mealea and KohKer we found someone for $90 (hotel charges u $150!) + $15 pp for temple entry tickets; 1h drive to kulen mountain $80 (at hotel) + tickets for the waterfall there $20 pp! If u also want to stop for lunch they always drop u off at a tourist priced restaurant. I think they have a bargain and get some extra money for bringing tourists. Come on i know u get ripped off as tourists, but no elsewhere so brash like here!
Anyways kudos to the entire staff and thx for everything. U made our stay in siem reap more joyful <3

Pictures give a bit wrong impression: the hotel is in the middle of a crowded side street. Not crowded in a way that there would be noise, but in a way that one is quite surprised the first time taxi turns to the street. However, rooms were good and clean, pool was nice and breakfast was ok. We had an early start to the airport and they gave us breakfast boxes to go.

Hotel is well situated in a way that one could also walk home from nearby restaurant and it didn’t take too long to get to the airport and Ankor area.

Stayed in various places throughout Cambodia and this hotel was by far my favourite. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always there for your needs. The pool/bar was a nice chill spot after a hot day of temples. The quality of the twin room was exceptional. The on-site massage service and restaurant (buffet breakfast) was also fantastic. Easy tuktuk or a hot walk into town. Would stay again. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Damrei (which means "elephant" in Khmer, by the way :P) for 3 days in the end of October. We were very positively impressed with the hotel facilities and the local staff.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable; maybe not quite 4 stars by European standards, but definitely a strong 3-stars mark.

The staff were extremely polite, courteous and friendly.

Food in the restaurant was quite good. The only exception was breakfast coffee which definitely required improvement...

The hotel recommended us a guide for Angkor area, Ms. Oum Soksan (nicknamed "Sun"). She proved to be a great guide and we enjoyed her tours a lot. "Sun" has a very detailed knowledge of the temples, she told us lots of additional useful info on Cambodia and local life plus she went the extra mile when we asked her to visit a temple that was not on the original itinerary - and all of this coupled with a very friendly attitude!

Re the location - Damrei is located on quite a shabby street in Siem Reap - so be prepared; still, nothing critical.

Enjoy Siem Reap!

This is a lovely place to stay with excellent staff throughout the hotel. A great restaurant and fabulous pool (salt water and very warm). Meals can be purchased at the pool as can drinks too. The road leading to the hotel is a little less inviting but for let that out you off. Good security is at the entrance. Always 2/3 tuk-tuk drivers outside to drop you anywhere locally for about 2/3$. Very friendly and polite staff at reception to help guide and assist you to anywhere you wish to go. Very highly recommended location for the Angkor tours and Not far from Pub Street.
