An easy 25 minute drive from the airport, House Smajic is located on the hillside overlooking the harbour with fantastic views out to sea. The room was slightly dated in style but immaculately clean with a lovely big bed, what more do you need? The bus stop is just outside and is the beginning and end of the circular route to the old town. HRK15 £2 one way, takes 20 minutes and is easy.
There is a well kitted out communal kitchen which is perfect for making breakfast and a seating area overlooking the bay to sit and eat.
A short walk straight down the hill to the harbour and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and even better a two minute walk to the shop on the corner which is open late in case you arrive at night.
Great value for money!
Our room looked like a blast from the past with its slightly outdated decor. But everything worked as it should, and it was very clean.
Upon arrival, the owner gave us a map and a quick introduction on how to get to the old town by bus and where to get breakfast.
We rented a car and the parking facilities were a bit terrifying to begin with as you have to drive up a pretty steep hill, do a u-turn followed by a slightly nerve racking drive up a very narrow road with no railing. The parking area doesn’t leave that much room for maneuvering but we managed.
Overall a good experience with a beautiful view from the balcony.
The apartment was nice and clean. There was a great view from the balcony of the harbor which was great to see at sunset.
Our room had a separate bathroom which was difficult to use as other guests often left their doors open.
The WiFi was so slow that it never worked for me, granted we were only in the room early in the morning or late at night, spending most of our time down in the city.
We had a room with a balcony and view to the harbour side. The room was very clean and quite comfortable. Hotel's located in a quiet neighbourhood, but there was a bus stop 100m from the hotel. The bus costs 15kn one direction, and it goes straight to the Pile Gate stop in Old town. You could also walk from the harbour to the hotel, but there were about 800 steps to climb. Did it once in +34 C heat and that was quite enough. Our hostess was kind and helpful and provided us with all the necessary information about Dubrovnik when we first got there. There's also a shared kitchen and fridge guests can use. All in all we were very happy with our visit!
