Emboo River Camp was amazing. I couldn't have picked a better place for my stay in the Masai Mara. It was so nice to have practically everything all included - food, lodging, game drives. They helped with booking the hot air balloon ride and transportation from the airport to the other airport. I felt safe and it was crowded or anything. They consistently kept the room spotless. Breakfast was awesome as was lunch and dinner. Lunch had an appetizer, entree, and dessert. That really bumped it up a notch. It was nice not having to pick what to eat and just enjoy. Snacks during the campfire were really tasty. Don't hesitate to book here! We saw so many animals too in such a short amount of time.

Dear Katie and Aleksandris, we are happy that you enjoyed a "Great Stay" at Emboo River. Chef Julius and Sous Chef Emmy loved preparing your delicious meals which were made with fresh ingredients from our vegetable and herb garden. Indeed, you saw so many animals including all those lion cubs up close! We thank you for your wonderful review and hope to welcome you both again.

In this place you have a life time opportunity to see all the big animals. I've been to Amboseli and Hell's gate before but Mara is incomparable. I was only there fo 24 hrs, but we saw lots of lions, lionesses and cabs, giraffes, hippos, bucks of all type, elephant herds.

The camp is very new and in excellent condition. Nice tents by the river, en suite, all clean, fresh, with traditional design. The staff are very very very friendly. The cook is worth a Micheline. The game drives are professional, they know where to take you and spot animals right on.

With just 6 tents we (3 friends) were the only guests in the camp and had the attention and care of all staff.

I found this stay and the visit overall tailored for my needs and exceeding expectations.

Dear arcyqizcha! We are happy to read that you had the Best Safari Experience with us in 2015. Since then we have renovated the lodge and renamed it "Emboo River".

If you enjoyed your game drives back then, you will LOVE them now.

Emboo River is the first lodge in the Maasai Mara with electric safari vehicles. You can get up close to wildlife and enjoy the sounds of nature, without noise or exhaust fumes.

We look forward to hosting you again and taking you for a unique game drive! Let us know when you'd like to come visit us again! Kind regards - Valery

My husband and I went to Nalepo Mara Camp in Feb 15 for a weekend, on arrival the vehicle and rangers were waiting for us, it was a very short drive to the camp. The camp itself is on the rustic side, but comfortable. We were the only people being accomodated that weekend, so we had the place to ourselves. The Tent/room was comfortable and clean. On the rustic side, the staff have to fill up a camping shower for washing everytime you want to take a shower. The tank of the shower is limited, so a quick shower is advised. I did not enjoy the food at the camp, as we were not given a choice at all but the food was just prepared and served. The food was grossly over cooked, and dry. I am not sure if it was because the camp was not fully booked so the choices were limited? . There are only plug points in the "bar" area, so none in the tent, so charging of camera batteries and phones has to be done in "bar" tent with a generator. The staff were very friendly and tried to make the experience a good one. I felt that our ranger was not as experienced as I would have liked as he did not really converse with us as much as we had hoped. But overall the experience was enjoyable and we saw loads of animals in the Mara, which is always a great experience.

Dear ElleVee288,

We are happy that you had an enjoyable weekend with us in 2015! Did you know that we have since revamped the lodge and renamed it "Emboo River"?

We have done major upgrades which will make your stay even more enjoyable!

The new guest tents have luxurious bathrooms, with running water which is heated by solar power. You can enjoy a long warm shower, without worrying about the environment because all the water is filtered and recycled. The rooms have power 24/7 thanks to solar panels and our international power outlets allow you to charge items in your room.

From your guest room, you can enjoy river views thanks to the modern tent deign with floor-to-ceiling openings.

In the new lounge area you can enjoy delicious 3 course meals from our new kitchen team! The meals are made from fresh ingredients from our own garden. Plus the delicious meals are perfectly complemented by our South African wines.

Did you know that we are going full eco? Emboo River is proud to be the first and only lodge in the Maasai Mara with electric safari vehicles. You can get up close to wildlife and enjoy the sounds of nature, without noise or exhaust fumes.

We look forward to hosting you again and have you experience this fully renovated camp! You'll be in for a magical stay in the middle of nature.

Kind regards, Valery
