verry good hotel from istanbul.i was few times in istanbul but everywhere was small rooms .here is big room, verry clean, silence, near Grand bazar, near Marmara, near Ayasofia,Blue mosque.personal of hotel are verry clever(know speak in manny language..manager and all personal, verry kind, show us all points of atraction from istanbul.thanks for all.we will return sooner.all the best from Romania,Lily and Aurora.
We booked a double room with sea view, which was the best part of being there. A breather from the busy streets of Istanbul. The kitchen is convenient with all the necessary accessories, fridge and microwave provided. Everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived.
Though the location is quite central (within 1.5 km of sultanahmet square), be prepared to walk for at least 10 to 15 minutes to get to the closest tramvay or metro station. Tura is located in a somewhat rundown neighborhood, the advantages of which are a reasonable laundry service, inexpensive food and supermarkets. We would recommend that you make your own itinerary rather than depend on the owners to guide you.
The proprietor Imran was kind enough to give us his own Istanbulkart metro pass. But strangely, the housekeeping staff didn't show up for the first two days of our stay, until we enquired about it. Even the taxi to take us to the bus station didn't show up when it was time for us to leave.
Overall, a good option if you are staying for a longish period and want the convenience of your own kitchen. Also, staying near the sultanahmet area makes sense if you're interested in the historical side of Istanbul. But if you're looking for a happening night life then staying around Taksim or Galata is a better option.
The Manager greeted our taxi on the main road because the hotel was hard to find. He insisted on carrying our two bags the short distance to the hotel. We were upgraded to a room with a kitchen for no extra cost. The room was very clean and modern. Our room was on the third floor and the hotel had no elevator but the climb was worth it. We chose the hotel because it was close to the ferry terminal but, as it turned out, we were only a 20 minute walk to the major Sultan Ahmet attractions. Located in a neighbourhood where the real people of Turkey live, friendly and courteous.
