We stayed at Golden Tulip for 10 nights after managing to escape London before it went into COVID lockdown. As we were working virtually we wanted somewhere with good WiFi and area to work from throughout the day with the added benefit of a pool and good location. Golden Tulip provided all three with a lovely pool and sea views. Plus a good gym. Two restaurants plus a cafe provide some good dining options - their pizzas and Indian dishes are the best. Staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is ok - fruit, eggs, toast and pastries but gets a bit monotonous after a few days. WiFi is best in reception (where we went if we needed to do teams or zoom calls) but good enough in the rooms for email and social media. Golden Tulip is in the embassy suburb - Irish embassy opposite and a lot of others around which means lots of guards around making it feel safe. Easy walking distance to supermarkets, pharmacies and phone shops eg. Vodacom as well as bars or restaurants. Uber works in Dar so also easy to get taxis and tuk-tuks back to the hotel at night. Decor wise the hotel feels a little past its best and shabbier in some parts but we loved our stay and thought it great value - we would definitely go back.

If you want peace of mind and the best hospitality. This is the place. The food is good, the rooms are perfect. Friendly staff always willing to assist you. The pools are clean. Everything was perfect. You feel like home , even the other guest we were like one big family.I truly relaxed after my trip. It's like heaven on earth

Had an amazing time at Golden Tulip sitting by the pool watching the ocean enjoying delicious meals at Jiko pizza and the variety of foods they offer .
Also enjoy the coffee shop at Golden Tulip .

Stayed here for 4 days while on a business trip. Very nice beach front property with a large pool and all amenities. The sea food there was awesome and the staff were willing to listen and customize with out any hesitation.

The hotel has a beautiful location all the way down by the sea and has an eternity pool as well, prefect for sunny days. The pizza restaurant is great corn lunch and every Friday they play live jazz- a unique experience in Dar!
