I will write this review as realistic and objective as possible.
The Riad is located in a very central area close to the photography museum and the souks.
First impression was wow this looks amazing. The staff are very friendly and the pool area is very inviting. I have no complaints about breakfast as it was very tasty.
The negatives are that if you sleep in one of the downstairs rooms you will hear everything that happens at the pool area and reception so no sleeping in I’m afraid.
They really try to persuade you to go on their tours but I honestly feel there is enough to do in the city itself for 3 days without taking a day trip.
The bed we slept in was really hard and the bathroom needs some upgrading. The one staff member kept touching my shoulders and making comments on how beautiful I am etc. it may have been harmless but I didn’t like it. For a 3 days stay it was good. I would recommend the Riad.
First thing I must say about this property is that it is beautiful. The Riad has a stunning lower terrace with a pool and sofa and the rooftop terrace is equally stunning in a Moroccan sunset.
Similarly, the room we stayed in was fantastic, well attended to each morning and has air con that worked very well (a must in summer). The shower was decent, sometime lacking a bit of water pressure but this was a tiny concern.
The staff here were an absolute dream. One of the most helpful, polite and knowledgeable staffs I've stayed with. They helped with directions, recommending visits, booking taxis, taking photos and even catered to our every need. Exceptional Service.
Massive thanks to everyone that made our stay so wonderful.
The room and the riad were enchantingly beautiful, with full access to the pool and sun loungers, and the opportunity for lovely spa treatments made l’oriental Medina riad and spa a real treat to stay in. What made us feel most welcome was the way that all the staff at the riad went above and beyond the call of duty by giving us tips on dealing with difficult locals, offering advice on what and where to see in Marrakech with the aid of personalised maps, small treats (Moroccan biscuits) left in the room after being cleaned, and always having happy faces !! Couldn’t have been a nicer place to stay
I don't know why there are only 3 reviews for this Riad but I am giving it a 4 because the staff are excellent and make your stay very pleasant.
We were on a tour and had a bit of a fraught time because originally we paid for the package based on one Riad, then they corresponded and said we had been moved to another "sister" Riad and then when we arrived we were taken here!
On arrival we were met (around the corner as there is no parking) and the young man transported our baggage whilst we followed him to the Riad.
The Welcome was overflowing and we really liked the staff at this Riad.
The Riad itself is fairly standard - down a side alley, small bedrooms, small plunge pool, nice Moroccan style breakfast.
This Riad is very handy for the Tanneries (don't let anyone show you the way) and the souks and Medina (don't take any notice of anyone showing you the way to "the square" or promising the last day of a fiesta or wool dying etc)
As an extra plus point for this Riad, they do serve some (alcoholic) drinks!!
Hope that helps.
