Very good hotel in every respect apart from food which is provided by Brewers Fayre and is pretty poor. Ate all meals except one elsewhere. Room is great - food terrible. Brewers Fayre is poor nationwide and compared to, for example, Table Table, is very disappointing - and Table Table meals are of comparable pricing.
Great location and staff. Room was standard Premier Inn. Heating was not working so a stand alone heater that took ages to heat a very cold room so that spoiled things a bit. Apart from that all was okay.
Expensive for breakfast as during the week it was table service NOT a buffet, yet on the Saturday it was. It needs to be one or the other. Room was clean and tidy and bed was very comfy. No air con which it did state so room got very warm even with the window open. No noise from police and fire station opposite.
Friendly staff, clean room apart from the really long hair we found on a towel which was very unpleasant. The hotel was much too warm in the corridors and on the stairs, in the room the heating was easy to control but it took a long time for the room to cool down, it was either too hot or too cold! We stayed for one night and apart from some guests banging some doors in the evening, the hotel was very quiet. There was a Brewers fayre right on the doorstep of the hotel and they had a good choice of food for evening meals and breakfast.
A comfortable night's stay combined with dinner and breakfast represented excellent value. Everything from check-in and parking onwards was very smoothly arranged. The room was comfortable and the food on offer was of a good quality with plenty of choice.
