Haubers went the extra mile to insure a wonderful experience for their guests. Small details to the rooms, meals, events, surroundings and staff says this with capital letters! If you like the natural way and nature, then this hotel will also really do it for you! I have never had a breakfast in such a beautiful place as their "Schwalbennest". Haubers and their staff went to the extreme to make this an unforgettable event for each guest. Treat yourself and book a room!
Our stay at Haubers was relatively okay compared to where we arrived from (Der Engel in Grän). If you don't play golf, you probably wouldn't choose to stay here. Price includes a green fee which we didn't leverage. The room was spacious and clean but furnishing was very old - bed, curtains, toilet.. Lacking this special touch. Perhaps elderly folks would enjoy this place a little more.
Outdoor pool was accessible from a small entrance - view was amazing but the bottom of the pool was covered with a soft green moss which was I didn't like the feel of too much.
Having said that, the hike up to the swallows nest for breakfast was quite an experience! Very well done lugging all that food up hill!
I can't think of a better place to enjoy the picture postcard perfect vacation spot in Bavaria. Everything at Haubers is exactly the way I expected it to be. First off the staff are outstanding. This is a family run hotel and all the staff felt like they enjoyed being part of the family. Even though we didn't speak German, it seems they all did, or at least they really tried and when we didn't understand each other they found someone who could explain. A special thanks to Niklas in the restaurant and Sofia at reception. They made us feel so very welcome. Then there is the setting. Picture perfect with mountains in the background and green lush fields everywhere. The focus here is on healthy sustainable living and the food and activities are proof. Great breakfasts (don't miss the swallow's nest outdoor breakfast on Sundays) and fantastic varied dinners with everything, even the deserts made in house. Good vegetarian dishes and sorbets to die for. The on-site golf course is beautiful and challenging, hiking trails all around and the yoga session with V was very professional. Relaxing out by the pool and in the spa was a great way to wind down the afternoons. All in all you couldn't get a better summer experience in the Alps.
There are actually 2 hotels in one place here. Landhaus and Gutshof. We stayed at the latter and this is where the outdoor pool (Landhaus has the indoor pool) is. Our room 709 was spacious, modern and very clean with a south facing balcony with fantastic views of the mountains. They have a varied spa menu and I would definitely recommend booking your treatments in advance to make sure you get the times you want. All in all, you can't go wrong at Haubers.
I only spent a few days here, but it they were truly enjoyable. I loved hiking the meadows, the dining, and I found my room really spacious and meticulously clean. It really does help to know some German here, however, and check the times on this amazing outdoor pool that I never got to enjoy. Somehow, it was never available when I was.
Do check out the spa--they have some really interesting treatments. The hay thing was a trip!
And the English translation on their site is FALLS APART when it comes time to booking a room. Without Google translate, it would have been impossible.
This resort is a perfect place to go for a relaxing, leisure weekend. I hiked, cycles, spent time in the Wellness area and swam in their heated outdoor pool. Highly recommended for golfers and hikers. Food is excellent and included in the price of a room.I will visit again. Loved the home made Muesli :-)
