We loved this camp ground. We tent camped here for 5 nights & it was very clean, large pitches, & the pools were wonderful after a day of exploring. It is a wooded area with plenty of shade & wonderful views. The restaurant was amazing and surprisingly one of our most enjoyable meals in France. We also enjoyed the cafe/bar for morning coffee and evening beer and wine on the patio.
The campsite is located near Sarlat and is an ideal starting point to visit this beautiful region. We were 3 staying in a 'Patio' mobilhome. It is rather small but clean and functional. The swimming pool was a life saver during the June heat wave. As an added bonus, the restaurant turned out to be fabulous, a safe alternative to some 'tourist traps' we found in Sarlat. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We booked the maison d'alice which appeared to be the most luxury of the cottages on the site, but on arrival whilst it was clean and pleasant it was fairly basic. The beds were so uncomfortable that all 4 of us had a lot of back pain for the entire fortnight. We'd ordered bed linen and towels (at extra cost) which was again basic but fine, apart from the towels which were really thin and super small - you basically had to get changed in the bathroom or make a very fast dash back to the bedroom to avoid flashing each other, the lovely looking swimming pool was stone cold etc etc - basically it wasn't the luxury holiday shown on the website.
On arrival we were asked to give our credit/debit card details to cover any breakages - big mistake! as when we left we emptied all the bins, swept up and cleaned and put away all the crockery, we hadn't cleaned the bathrooms or mopped the floors as we hadn't been left any cleaning materials, but all in all left it in a reasonable state - assuming they would clean it before the next guests. We returned to a snotty email informing us they would be taking 100 euros from our account for the cleaning, and despite us making several attempts to respond and ask why etc we have had no response and the money was taken. In all honesty I think this is a particularly shady way of squeezing extra money out of guests
