Simply a rubbish hotel and it’s the small things that make it rubbish...
The reception staff are terrible: When we arrived we were told there was no parking available. Rather than being shown somewhere else to park we were sent out onto the street to park and work out the rather complicated parking machine for ourselves.
It was only when a rather nice concierge came to help that things got sorted and he miraculously found us a parking spot in the garage (quite why the miserable receptionist couldn’t have sorted this in the first place I don’t know).
We tried to use the free bicycles but my daughter is 3 years old so we needed a bike with a child seat. None were available. Nor we’re they available the 2nd evening.
The 3rd evening we were finally given keys to a bike... with no child seat. Only when we complained did we finally get a correct bike.
We attended the swimming pool and despite not a single other person being in or around the pool my daughter was told she could not play in the water with a ball. I appreciate that toys may not be allowed in the water but please exercise some common sense if the place is empty!
We were also charged for use of pool towels, which seems pretty poor service in this day and age.
We were also charged for bottled water in the bedroom - something I’d expect to be complimentary.
The bedroom was small and came with 2 rather thin, well used pillows - which admittedly were replaced by the nice housekeeping staff when we complained.
There is no ironing facility in the room nor any way of ironing clothes such as shirts. In the end I had to pay housekeeping to do it. I’d normally expect an ironing board and iron to be available.
The rooms, albeit dated are kept clean though.
At breakfast the food is average and the toaster takes AGES to cook toast (just invest in some decent equipment)! In fairness the restaurant manager is nice though...Coffee is also charged extra.
It’s a hotel that whilst dated could actually be ok if the service was more attentive. We were not even asked how our stay was when we checked out.
Unfortunately for me it was an expensive disappointment despite the lovely concierge and housekeeping staff.
Cervia is lovely and very family friendly with great beaches and restaurants. The old town is gorgeous. We’ll certainly be returning to the town but will be more careful about the hotel we pick next time.
Very nice children-friendly hotel. The personnel is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is ok - vegetables are missing. The hotel has two swimming pools and rents bicycles for 3h for free. You can also get beach towels for 1,5€ at the reception. The beach is just opposite of the beach - yet sunbeds and sunshades have to be paid extra. Very much recommended! We enjoyed our stay!
Excellent hotel, staff very friendly, the room was lovely, great bathroom, we had a balcony with sea view which was very nice, electric shutters, a/c which worked very well, very comfortable bed, very clean which was done daily quite early which is not a problem for us as we are early risers, beds turned down at night, the pool area was very nice extremely clean, loungers and rattan day beds and a jacuzzi, gym area to the side which is under cover. Breakfast there was a good choice of sweet and savoury and some hot food. we used the garage underground for parking which there is a charge for and it is quite tight to park but at least the car was safe and out of the sun. Overall a very pleasant stay.
We booked two days at this hotel based on reviews here on Tripadvisor.
Due to lost bags and Alitalia's lousy customer service, we ended up staying one more night which was no problem, even though the hotel was fully booked. They helped us for two days with phonecalls to the airline company and translations. They also offered to forward our bags to our new adress if they did not show up in time for our new departure.. Super friendly and smiling staff, great location by the beach 10 min. Walk from city center, good breakfast and nice and clean. We will come back one day for sure. Did I mention the pool area? If not, it is very nice, and the hotel bare makes delicious Aperol Sprits at a very good price 😊
We stayed at this hotel purely by chance. We hadn't pre-booked accommodation and parked outside whilst searching online. This came up as a top rated hotel. The outside is very modern and has plenty of seating and tables, particularly lovely in the evening. The reception area again modern and the staff were veery welcoming and allowed me to view the room before agreeing to stay. I was very pleasantly surprised by the room and rate. It had a side sea view and a reasonable sized balcony and electronic security shutters. A lovely large bathroom - double sinks and a huge shower, which was very powerful with body jets. Beds were large and very comfortable, also good a/c in the room. The whole of the hotel and swimming area was extremely clean and well maintained. The pool area had rattan loungers including several larger day beds, and also a jacuzzi. The breakfast had a very good choice of savoury and sweet and include hot food. This is a good hotel for those touring and need car parking as there is a choice of a garage with charges or free parking on site but the hotel keeps the keys to enable movement of the cars as people depart. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and courteous. Overall I was extremely happy and will definitely be returning on our next rip to italy.
