Aux Lumières de Loire is located a stones throw from the Loire river and alongside the Loire a Velo cycle path. We stayed 1 night while cycling along the path and it was a wonderful spot. Lucie speaks perfect English and we were made very welcome. Our bikes spent the night safely tucked away in the caves beneath the house! The room was lovely and spotlessly clean.
St Florent le Veil is a pretty town and there were a couple of restaurants close by.
After being made welcomed by hosts Lucie and Jean into their sublime guesthouse, I spent a peaceful evening in the impeccably charming "Jardins de L'Abbaye" room. Well-furnished, comfortable and clean, this room has a stunning view overlooking the Loire River and offers a peek of the historic Abbey gardens.
I can personally attest that after having spent a long, exhausting day, contemplating the sunset over the Loire River from Aux Lumières de Loire's "terrasse" before relaxing in bed was just what I needed to replenish my energy!
Throughout my various travels across Europe, I can truly say that I've been fortunate enough to come across this gem in the heart of Saint Florent-Le-Vieil. If you are ever passing through Saint Florent-Le-Vieil, then I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!
My mum and I stayed at Lucie's beautiful chambre d'hote as we were attending a wedding right next door!
Lucie and family made us feel so welcome and even accommodated my mums excessive tea habit! The view of the Loire from our room and from breakfast was spectacular. I would highly recommend staying here and the village/town has everything you need including two fantastic traditionally French local cafes/bistros/restaurants just a 2 minute walk away in a beautiful square. 4 days was certainly not long enough, we hope to return again. Thank you!!!
