First time at a premier Inn and on first impressions it seemed great .
Decent sized room, nice bath and shower, decent sized TV.
We had a family room with a travel cot supplied, brilliant. Unfortunately the heating in our room was all over the plac . Set it to one thing but it simply wouldn't register and kept turning itself off leaving the room exceptionally cold in the middle of the night. Not good when we had our 1 year old son with us.
Breakfast was great but the cleanliness left a little to be desired. Plates and mugs very sticky and greasy but overall the food was fab.
Staff at the hotel are VERY VERY friendly and a credit to the hotel.
Would we stay again, can't see why not, just wished we'd reported the heating.
I had a overnight stay here. On arrival I noticed is in the middle of nowhere. It looked old and tired outside. But I was shocked by the quality of the friendly staff, the room was clean with plenty of space to spread out. The bathroom was excellent and immaculate. I would use this Premier inn again and will recommend it. The Brewers Fayre attached, was really good with the staff being excellent and food was really good for one of these style restaurants.
The staff were friendly but the room wasn’t clean. Wee round toilet seat, hairs in bed, bits on carpet.
The food is vile, I had the pink microwave chicken with dry beans. My mrs had a side of chips as the vegetarian options were not desirable
Also there was a car meeting and a pushbike meeting in the car park outside our window that woke us up at around 8:00-9:00am (Sunday)
My husband and I booked a disabled accessible room as We are both disabled, the shower was over the bath meaning I couldn’t get washed, we asked for twin beds, we got one kingsized bed and a single, the single bed was like sleeping on concrete and hurt my back so much I’m still having problems, I wished to hell we knew what we were in for we would have booked somewhere else. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel for disabled guests
An overnight stop on our way back to Wales, the back of the hotel looking a little worse for wear (Whitbread note, do some decorating etc). However the room itself was nice, clean and with a comfortable bed...pretty quiet despite being adjacent to a main road. We ate at the Tudor Rose adjacent and were pleasantly surprised - the food was good (for this kind of establishment) and it was a bargain offer (before 6pm) so really couldn't complain. As we told restaurant staff, we have in the past paid an awful lot more for not really nice food. Overall would recommend this Premier Inn(and we have stayed in a few) and the Tudor Rose to eat in!
