We stayed in the airport area of Grand rapids because in the city rates were expensive. Turns out airport area was also nearly as high, but candlewood was about half as costly but just as nice! Pool and Whirlpool, most other hotels did not have both. The pool area was very nice. Clean rooms, courteous staff, kitchenette with dishes, etc- best deal of our whole trip to Michigan, convenient area to stay. Would come again
We stayed here because we had a house fire and needed a place to stay for a while. Because the hotel is being converted into a Candlewood Suites it wasn't very busy. So our family was one of the only ones to use the pool or be down in the breakfast area. This place is a hidden gem in Grand Rapids!
This place is a little dated but it is very clean and the staff was very kind and caring. I stayed just the one night and swam in their nice indoor pool. It was very relaxing after a long business trip. The breakfast was also very good. Definitely worth the money!
The GPS took us to the new Holiday Inn behind the old one and we’re glad it did. It was only open for 5 hours when we arrived. Wonderful room and great personnel at the front desk. The pancakes out of a machine were like homemade. They even had to go bags at the breakfast counter so we took Cinnabon rolls. It can’t get better than that. My grandson said this is the best hotel he ever stayed in. He is 10. We both enjoyed the pool.
Staff were very friendly, room was comfortable but needs a little updating. The washroom drains were all clogged. The pool and hot tub was disgusting. Dirty and in serious need of repair. The hot tub control was literally hanging off the wall land was not working and this the Jets did not turn on. The hot tub water level was so low it was not circulating through the filter. The water was filthy and we didn't dare step into it. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to a hot tub soak after a long day. Safe your money and book somewhere else.
