Lake Shkodra Resort is basically a camp ground which offers also rooms in tree houses and tents for groups. The whole complex is very clean and calm and has direct access to the Shkodra lake. The beach is equipped with deckchairs and sunbeds.
Wifi is available (for free) everywhere. Breakfeast is not included in the room prices but the resort restaurant offers a wide range of dishes for very moderate prices.
The rooms have no bathroom facilities. iNstead you can reach in short distance common bathrooms which are always clean and serviceable.
I stayed there only one night but you can easyly stay for more day and relax. Several trips to the surrounding attractions are also offered.
We love the place and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept and make for a relaxing getaway. A couple of suggestions: The Lodge needs a more powerful air conditioner for the size it is. It would be nice to have a fan in each of the bedrooms as well. Also, a microwave would be a nice addition.
I have worked and lived in Albania for two years and by far this was the nicest accommodation I have experienced. For Albania standards, this place is a little gem! It is set back very close to Lake Shkodra and gated, so privacy is a priority. Check in was easy with darling and friendly girls. We stayed at The Lodge which is a cabin, of sorts, on stilts. It perfectly slept 4 (one big bed and two twins) in the two bedrooms downstairs. There is a lot of space up in the loft for up to 4 more people. The big bedroom had a full bathroom inclusive of a bathtub, which is hard to find in Albania! The twin room had a full bathroom with a small shower. We were provided plenty of towels and pillows upon request. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is a full kitchen with a large refrigerator and freezer. There is a small deck off the ground on the front side of the lodge. There is a hammock underneath the lodge. The other lodging were a tree house (no bathroom), a "gypsy-type" wagon (no bathroom), huge circular tents complete with beds off the ground and furniture "for glamping". Other people stayed in their own small campers and RVs and their own tents. The place had manicured landscaping and the layout was great. The bar/restaurant was fabulous with Albanian food, steak, fish, chicken, and vegetable choices. The staff was amazing and catered to our every wish. The gift shop at check-in was also cute and had everything we needed or wanted. The resort is a few miles beyond the town of Shkodra so we had an easy drive to Rozafa castle. This was a very affordable and enjoyable weekend getaway for four friends who needed to relax. There were many nationalities represented as guests.
Extraordinary campsite. Spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, calm and tranquil (especially now our noisy kids have left). We stayed in a Bell Tent which was as good as a hotel room. The food was pretty reasonable although once we'd been there for about four days we felt they could have done with a daily special to change things up a bit. The lake was lovely to swim in, very warm. Nico and Faye couldn't have been more welcoming.
We had been planning only to stay a few nights but ended up staying a whole week.
After a long day of driving, we were not sure where we would be staying in Shkoder so decided to move out of the city and find a location near the lake. We arrived at night and were initially looking for a hotel room but the reception lady offered to show us the tens they rent. We looked at it and without hesitating decided to stay. The tents are very nice with bed and very cool lighting at night. They even have a fan so you can have air. Wi-Fi is available on the whole site, showers toilets are very clean.
And then waking up in the morning: what a surprise, beautiful view on the lake and easy to access it. The only thing I would recommend to the owners is to add an easier path to the lake.
But definitely worth staying here.
