Spent two nights at Hawthorn House with my two grown up kids in a room for 3 people.
It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The beds were comfy with good quality linen and towels provided.
The owners were so welcoming and work very hard to make their home feel comfy and welcoming.
The breakfast is top notch with plenty of choice and quality fresh produce, breakfast is cooked fresh and not sitting in warm trays...you can’t beat it!
Location is good to access many attractions locally, I highly recommend a visit to Chatsworth house it’s amazing and not too far away.
Hawthorn House itself has an interesting history and has links to the Chatsworth Estate. I highly recommend a stay here if visiting the area its got to be one of the best around. 💕
Near to Buxton but a quiet location. Room very clean and cosy. Plenty of hot water with a walk in shower. The breakfast was delicious with the addition of local oatcakes and just what was required before a days walking!
Paul and Sarah were both very welcoming giving us lots of information about the local area, where to eat and the history of the property which we found fascinating. They even gave us a tour of the cottage that they rent as we mentioned visiting again with family. Stunning is the best word to describe it.
The location was perfect, it was peaceful but only a short walk to the town centre.
Breakfast was amazing, definitely the best full English I've ever had, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed oatcakes so had to go and buy some after checking out! (Paul recommended where to buy them 😀)
The room was spotless and beautifully decorated. I loved that they left a cosy blanket on the sofa that I could snuggle with my book.
There were quality toiletries in the bathroom which I think is a nice touch as I always forget something!
We'll definitely be back x
Spent 2 nights here for our mini-moon with our dog. Easy to find, parking on site and our room was lovely and cosy. We didn’t have a bath only shower which was a shame, perhaps you can request one. Lovely owners who advised on things to do in the area. Bed was lovely and comfy and the heating worked well in the room when the temperature dropped. We also had a fantastic fry up each morning with the infamous Derbyshire oakcakes. We visited Chatsworth House and Hassop for some lovely dog walks. Highly recommend.
We stayed last night and from checking in, the family were so warm and welcoming. The room was done beautifully with a really nice bathroom. We had trouble getting our baby girl some food while we were out and when we got back, it was no problem for them to heat the food up that we’d bought. Unfortunately our visit was cut short as our baby wasn’t well but we will definitely be visiting again. A really nice little find run by a lovely family.
