My friend and I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend as we were taking part in the Lisbon Marathon. The hotel isn't far from the main city and about 15.minutea from the airport. The hotel is very nice. We had a twin room, it was ok, beds were comfortable electric blinds and room service was good. Large bathroom the funniest bit was when you're in bed you can see through a glass panel into the shower/bath but don't worry there is an elevtric blind you can move up and down to. Cover your modesty. It was a but like Naked Attraction haha 😂 overall great stay, we did make use of the spa although the pool wasn't open. We had a couples massage session with jacuzzi which want badly priced for 2 included champagne, jacuzzi then a massage steam and sauna. There were local restaurants nearby and shops. Lovely cafe on the corner opposite the main entrance where we went for breakfast which was really good value. Overall a great hotel and just what we needed. 👍
5 stars hotel very well studied from top to bottom, modern room with modern furniture and stylish glass bathroom, amazing pool and spa, breakfast was very tasty, close to everywhere and definitely I will repeat my stay again, my review is based on my stay August 2011.
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a group on an organized tour of Portugal.
Having a fancy, large reception area, pool and a spa does not make a hotel a five star establishment in the guests eye. What does make a 5 star hotel is a room with sufficient light(s) to be able to see what you are doing and not need to use the torch on your mobile phone or to have to move the free standing lamp around the room to shed a little light. The photos on the site do not reflect the amount of darkness in the room. The bathroom had undergone some sort of bad refit - there were large corners where something had previously been which was now empty space and you could still see on the walls where something was missing. The bath which contained the shower - no glass door or anything else - flooded the bathroom floor however careful you tried to be. Towels were paper thin and not very new looking however clean they hopefully were.
The group was on a half-board basis - breakfast was a disaster - all the international groups were put upstairs in a large hall, had to wait ages to be seated, they had to open up an adjoining hall in the end just to seat everyone. No food and not replenished at the breakfast buffet. Very low quality food and choice and had to walk maybe 100m just to reach the buffet from where you were seated. No trays and small plates - not an easy journey back to your seat.
Location is not close to the centre so if you want to be within even a relatively easy walking distance of the city centre this would not be suitable.
I realize that on an organized tour you cannot pick and choose your hotels and I don't normally expect too much of their choices, however this was unfortunately a big disappointment.
Not a 5 star hotel, and on this basis we are scoring this hotel with a low rating.
The breakfast and breakfast staff were the big let down.
The hotel was clean & the room was a good size with a large bath & good shower.
They had closed the rooftop pool when we were there because ’rain was forecast in a few days time’... ?
Location was good for local restaurants, shopping & close to the metro for getting around the city.
Breakfast was far from relaxed or even 4* quality/ food and with the unhelpful staff, this was the main letdown for our stay.
I`m deeply disappointed with this hotel and i don`t even know where to start.
Firstly there are 13 or 14 floors in the hotel but only 2 elevators so sometimes it took more than 5 minutes to get to the ground floor.
Once i called reception from the room and the gentleman who answered didn`t say hi nor goodbye at the end just an "ok" and hung up the phone.
Sauna and steam bath were not working during the 5 days we stayed there.
The pool looked alright but it`s a shame that a 5 star hotel doesn`t provide a bar next to it.
We ordered a mojito which was completely faulty. It was made with ice cubes instead of crushed ice, lacking mint leaves (and those leaves were black) and sweetnes so i had to return it. Plus no garnish on any cocktails which makes it look like extremely poor.
We got some bar snacks however i had to ask for it specifically.
The cleanliness of the room was good the only let down was the mini bar as it was empty everyday apart from some water.
Selection of breakfast was not bad but then again i had better breakfast in 3-4 star hotels many times. The waiters didn`t really bother to top up the buffet on several occasions. The waiter who was pouring coffee for everyone was really friendly not like the guy who was at the door and when he didn`t find a clean table for us he was just staring at us in a clueless manner. Eventually we told him don`t worry we will sit at a dirty table and he never came nor sent anyone to clean it.
Also a bit of a shame that they don`t do welcome drinks or any kind of treats (biscuits, milk shakes) at reception as nowadays its a common thing even in 4 star hotels.
