PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. Extremely dirty with marks all up the walls in the hallway and a think layer of dust all over the room. Our “fresh linen” was also stained. There was also a random hole in the wall right outside our door and the T in the hotel name outside had also broken, adding to the over all ‘tackiness’. They refused to compensate and I will NEVER go back.

We stayed three nights at Aston City Hotel July 2020 and really enjoyed the great location near the city. The room is small but we didn’t need more space, as we only used the room for sleeping.
The internet is rather slow and unstable.
The bathroom could use a better ventilation. We stayed in a room with a big window, which gave us the opportunity to open the window. However, some of the rooms have only window to the staircase, hence lagging “fresh “ air.
Not the fanciest hotel but great value for money

Please avoid this hotel at all costs! The room we were offered was a single room with 2 beds in it - there was no where to even put your suitcase. The bathroom was so small when you sat on the loo your head could touch the wall opposite. It was filthy, a thick layer of dust on the radiator and in the corners of the room! There was no way we were going to stay and promptly booked another hotel. After complaining we were offered a refund of 1 night but no money was ever refunded!

Myself, sister & 2 nieces (4 grown women) booked this hotel thinking like some, “well it seems cheap & cheerful and it’s only for sleeping & a shower so it should be fine for that” For us to experience our first ever exciting visit to Amsterdam together. So once we got there (having to check in a few doors down) we paid the additional £24 room tax and were given the keys. We struggled with our luggage up filthy stairs and could just about fit in what they acknowledged as a suitable room for two?!! The stench of this tiny little filthy dusty disgusting room was a shock and immediately turned our stomachs, how could we sleep in this? So PLEASE do not make the same mistake as us! It wasn’t fit for habitat in any possible make do situation, even youngsters who were as high kites there were just as disgusted. We spent one hour there before deciding we had to find alternative accommodation of which we did, so therefore asked for our money back of which was refused, even the room tax we had just given him?!! The manager seems to hide away and let his young staff get all the complaints of which I can only imagine is very often, grrr! So very wrong. Terrible disgusting service throughout, be warned. We stayed in the aston city hotel for 3 nights, the first night we were so tired from travelling that we fell straight to sleep, however ... the next morning we woke up and I had noticed a chocolate bar we had bought and put on the desk in the room had the corner of it missing, I said about a mouse but because we hadn't heard anything we just thought maybe we had ripped it accidentally, although there were tiny pieces off the wrapper lying around the room , clearly bitten off as we could see teeth Mark's. The next night I was woke at 3am with a rattling noise and was awake the whole night terrified that the mouse was going to end up in bed with us, we checked the next morning under the bed for it and it was no where to be seen so clearly there is a hole somewhere in ROOM 101 where they are getting in and out off , we then noticed our bag had a whole in it exactly the same as the chocolate bar with bits of it lying around the bag , the bag had chocolate and crisps in it and it was clear that the mouse was trying to get at the chocolate as mice love chocolate. We were ready to go down and demand a room change but thought because we hadn't seen the mouse and heard anything all day it was away , WE WERE WRONG as soon as the lights were out on our last night , it was straight back out rummaging round our bags! We actually had to check our bags and clothes so that we didnt travel home with a rodent in our luggage !!!! NOT TOO MENTION THE AWFUL STENCH OF THE BATHROOM WHICH I CAN ONLY SAY SMELT OF DEATH. It smelt so much of ammonia, I wouldn't be surprised if the smell was coming from dead mice in the drains. Also you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside.
Book this hotel only if your ok with Mice, Rotting smells and noise ...
