Whilst very centrally located and in theory a perfect little hotel, we managed to be given a room that wasn't pictured on their website.. Very small, absolutely no natural light at any time of the day and you could hear the people upstairs very clearly whilst they were on the toilet. We chose not to have the breakfast here as it was a cramped room where social distancing seemed not to be taken into consideration.
We stayed for 4 nights in August and loved it. Our first room, although decorated nicely, was tiny. When my partner slept with his feet out over the end of the bed I couldn’t get past to go to the loo! They did move us to a bigger room which was much better though. The two rooms and the shared areas were well decorated. It all felt very Venetian which is what we wanted. The bathrooms do let it down though as these are very dated. Don’t even bother with the hairdryer either- you may as well just get someone to blow on your hair!
That being said, the bathroom was the only downside really, and they were perfectly clean and useable. The rest was great. The little outside area when you come in is lovely and we made it our own in the evenings, playing cards and watching the world go by. The location is wonderful! So close to everything and on a gorgeous little ‘street’. The staff were great and the check in/ out process very efficient. We’d definitely go back. The only difference is we’d upgrade to a canal view room (wasn’t available when we went).
We (family of 4) stayed from Wednesday through to Thursday in February 2020. The hotel is managed along with the San Lorenzo next door, and was easy to find although there was no big sign and someone from reception at the San Lorenzo saw us on the door step and came out to tell us we were at the right place and check us in. Everything was easy - the room was big and clean, with antique style furniture and chandelier. The hotel (along with most of Venice) is very old, but well equipped, clean, airconditioned and heated. The bathroom was good. Breakfast was a cold buffet with good variety of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, meat, cheese, breads, cakes etc and coffee. It's less than 5 minutes walk from St Mark's Square and less than that from the water taxi stop at San Zaccharia. The little pizza place on the other side of the canal from the front door is good.
Lovely hotel, first room was nice though had a bit of noise in mornings from setting up breakfast, when mentioned they happily upgraded us to another room, staff polite, helpful and courteous, will definitely return, a gem in heart of Venice 👍
We recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on our first visit to Venice. It is conveniently located just 7 minutes walk from san zaccaria pier and an easy walking distance to all major tourist sites and the city centre.
The room was spacious, clean and tidy and the included breakfast great, including the provision of a generous breakfast box for an early tour departure we had.
The reception staff were very professional and helpful for us with information and directions.
There’s a great little cafe right opposite, and a coin operated laundry nearby.
