Clean, small but comfortabele room. Good beds and good breakfast. Quick and easy check in and check out. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quite a long walk to the city centre but Girona is definitely worth a visit.
Very good value for money, keep like this. The hotel is highly convenient, it is clean and well located and the overall quality of the services (desk, food, room) is really high for a type of hotel like this.
We booked here as we are familiar with the Ibis brand and this place allows dogs. No quibble. It is within walking distance of the centre but not in the centre. There is limited free parking at the entrance with secure open-air or garage parking available at a cost.
Reception was well done and efficient. The room was very slightly larger than most Ibis hotel rooms but the view out was of an adjacent budget hotel.
The small flat screen TV had many international news channels. WiFi was good and simple but probably not secure. The en-suite shower room was clean and all worked fine.
Breakfast was a buffet with a reasonable selection of items.
Overall it is better than the average Ibis.
You generally know what to expect from an Ibis hotel. This was no different with comfortable room and good bathroom. Was left slightly disappointed by breakfast choices compared to Ibis hotels elsewhere (but first time in a Spanish Ibis so maybe it is typical). One main gripe would be the location, on the edge of Girona, which might be fine for those travelling by car but is inconvenient to get to by public transport until you work out the bus route.
We arrived into Girona from Glasgow and had a different hotel booked about 20km away. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and despite warning the original hotel we would be arriving after midnight and trying to call ahead, we were dropped off by our taxi at 1.30am only to discover the hotel locked. Nobody could be roused despite banging and telephoning.
In desperation I called the Ibis (this hotel) and an extremely helpful man in reception arranged a taxi to collect us from where we were (20km from the Ibis) and sorted us a room for a great price, all in English (I am one of those terrible British travellers I'm afraid!)
I cannot emphasise enough how helpful the man on reception was. He was calm, friendly and basically saved our lives.
Our group contained a five year old and we didn't finally get to bed until 4am. However, without the help we received from the man at Ibis hotel we would have faced a whole night on the street.
The hotel itself is clean and well priced. The breakfast is decent and it was a real port in a storm.
To the manager: Please, please thank your staff and in particular the man working the night shift overnight between Sat 30th June and Sun 1st July. He is a credit to your company.
